Progesterone levels at 4wks...what were yours?

by sallystar, Jan 03, 2007 12:00AM
Just got back my blood work today - hcg 162 / progesterone 17.  After reading some other posts I am noticing that many people with progesterone levels under 20 get supplements.  I am not getting more bloodwork until next Monday & I am not seeing my doctor until a week from Thursday.  If I wait am I at risk for losing this baby???  Should I call him and ask to be put on progesterone supplements?  I've already had one chemical pregnancy - can't deal with losing another!

My first blood test was around 4 weeks also. My progesterone was 14.7 at that time. My doc was not worried about this and did not really think supplementing it was necessary (even when I thought I shoudl ask about it). So far so good so maybe he knows what he's doing after all...

My dr tested me at 4 weeks and placed me on supplements when my progesterone was 17 and am still on them with preogesterone of 22. each dr is different.  I thought between 10-20 was good.  each dr is different..  some drs don't prescribe progesterone at all.  if you like you dr wait.  first sign of any trouble though call him.  good luck
