As I posted a few days ago, I just got a BFP and am not even quite 4 weeks pregnant. Very soon I know! Since my last and only pregnancy ended in miscarriage at somewhere between 12 and 15 weeks (baby stopped growing at 9), my doctor said she'd put me on premarinPremarin Premarin intravenous Premarin vaginal Premarin with methyltestosterone suppositories just in case thats the problem. I'm so grateful for her! Has anyone used these? What kinds of side effects did they have? If I do have enough prog already will the supp do anything weird?
Thanks for your response. I hope all goes well for you this time! It's really hard to stay calm, I just worry too much. Ok, well I think I will take the aspirin then, just in case. Since my doctor wouldn't do tests until at least 2 miscarriages. How great that youve heard the heartbeat a few times! I will say a prayer for you and your baby.
Progesterone supplements won't hurt you or your baby even if you have enough progesterone without them. One side effect is sometimes constipation; progesterone slows things down.
Baby aspirin reduces blood clots. This can be helpful if there is a problem with blood clotting in the umbilical cord, and probably if there are other issues relating to blood clotting.
if clotting was not the problem you could be hurting your baby with the baby aspirine - thinning out your blood might not be good to keep a baby implanted!
MY RE said each case should be looked at individually for baby aspirin - that it is not for everyone
I have been on Prometrium (progesterone) twice. Orally the first time and vaginally the second time. Both myself and a friend of mine were on it at the same time and both experienced the same side effects so be prepared. We were both horribly emotional, depressed, anxious, angry at everything and everyone. I don't know if everyone has these side effects but when I mentioned it to the nurse she said oh yes, you're not the first patient whose told me the same things. I just want you to be prepared. If someone would've told me what to expect I might have been better equipped to deal with it knowing it was just the medication and not me going off my rocker. I will say with taking it vaginally, the side effects were a little less severe and took longer to kick in, and I've read it is more effective that way anyway.
Thank you all! I've decided not to take the aspirin. Thanks for what you said, I realized that my last pregnancy had problems from the beginning, the fetus was always 3 weeks or more behind where it was supposed to be. So I'm guessing that I don't have the clotting issue, but of course I could be wrong. Just hoping that's not it! It seemed like just a sick baby for whatever reason.
I am not taking Premarin, sorry, I got the name mixed up. I'm taking it 3 times a day, 200mg, is that what you have experienced? Great, I'm already angry and emotional esp at my husband! These will probably make it worse. Oh well, anything for a healthy babe!! Thanks again
I do the Prometrium progesterone supp. 200mg twice a day will have to until 13w. in addition to this, since getting pregnant my doctor put me on progesterone shots once a week which my husband gives them to me. She said that I can't get to much. I will do these the whole nine months.
