Project Baby - update

For those that are interested, I thought I would let you all know how my appt went with the RE yesterday.  

He was ready to get started this month if that was what we wanted to do.  To my surprise DH was in total agreement.  We both want another baby, but I was worried it was moving a little too fast for him, but he was really excited.  So anyway, yesterday was cd9, so we did an ultrasound.  My dominant follicle is on the side which does not have a fallopian tube.  The RE says it doesn't matter, which I don't totally agree with. I think it is possible to get pg that way, but not as likely.  I go back on Saturday for another u/s and we'll do IUI sometime after that.  My cycles have been short, so I kind of think saturday will be too late, but we'll see.  Since the follicle was on the wrong side, I'm not going to push to come in earlier.. I'll just let it play out and see how it goes.  Hopefully next cycle the follicle will be on the left side... THEN I WILL GET EXCITED!!!  :)

Wow - congrats!  I'm very excited for you.

I'm thinking of going for it too....but we are a little worried about finances...more than anything.  We definetely want more.

I just can't seem to make that jump.  I got the thumbs up from my Dr....and DH wants to go for it...in a month or two....but my little Jake is only 9 mos old?

Hmmmm....how did you gear up to make that decision already?

I'm just really trying not to over think it.. If I focus on all the challenges, I will feel overwhelmed, but I felt the same way before Jacob got here also..  I know it is possible because others do it all the time.. I figure I'm at least as competent as most of them :)  

When I was in school at the beginning of every semester, I would visualize myself standing at the edge of a pool.. I would hold my nose and jump...  At the end of the semester, I would see myself emerging up through the water, come up to the surface, and take a big breath..

That is pretty much what I did with this.... I'm just jumping in and going for it...

DH is like, let's just go for it.  We want more...why not.

But then I think, why not next year instead of this year....

DH thinks I'll be to old then....36 vs 35 this year....LOL

I would hop on the wagon but NOT UNTIL I LOSE 10lbs, hee, hee, plus my baby will only be 3 months on the 14th. I think my dr. would frown upon another c-section so soon. (had 2, 19mo's apart :) Anyways, tanker, did you have a section? I forget.... I say for sure GO FOR IT!!!  I'm not going to lie, I was having a glass of  wine in front of the computer the other night and ordered 70 OPK strips on-line, HA HA HA..... I'm 35, maybe one more??? I have a 22mo dd and a 12week ds, GO FOR IT LADIES :)!!!

I've been on a crash diet myself.  Slimfast is getting rich with all the shakes and bars I'm eating. It has taken 6 months but I'm finally starting to drop a little. I'm still not my prepreggo size tho.  Most people would probably say I needed to gain some weight anyway, so i'm okay with it..  now that I'm ttc again, I will stop the dieting.    

I'm more of a BBT charter than a OPKer...  I am gonna miss the wine tho.  I had couple of glasses myself last night..

I didn't have a c-section... I was a little worried that the RE would want me to wait a year but he didn't.. he did mention that if I was younger he might suggest trying on our own for 6 months, but based on my age he thought either way was okay..  Jacob will be 6 months on the 11th..

I don't get it, I'm down the "weight" but not the size either.... Do the slim fast shakes work??? I really need to just diet and exercise, BUT I WANT A QUICK FIX!! ha ha
Yeah, I haven't even got my first AF so I don't know what in the world I'm thinking, hee, hee. I did get AF 16 weeks PP w/dd, hmm... so we'll see. Keep me posted!!!  Oh, yeah, my new favorite SHIRAZ!!!

I'm going to be 51 next month, ladies.  I'm telling you, I can't take it!  Can't you guys find something else besides ovulating to do with your spare time???

Yay, congrats guys!  I think it is best not to over think it.  If we all did that...or waited until the "most" perfect time the world would be severely under populated!  You are all obviously very good mothers, so adding one more would be a benefit!

We actually always wanted 4 but after my 3 miscarriages, we said if Jake was a boy....then we were done....1 boy 1 girl....perfect.

I don't know.  I thought I would be ready when Jake turns 1 in Oct.....but I had a bad virus of some sort last night ....it was like a 12 hr fever and pounding headache.

I could hardly function, I went to bed at 6:30 and didn't get up until 6am this morning.

DH took the kids downstairs....and that was it for me.

I remember being so tired and sick during my pregnancy with Jake, I felt like I was 'not there' or neglecting Abby.  I just don't want to go through that again.

I feel like a missed a lot with her, because that pregnancy was so hard.
I just don't know now if I'm ready for that.

Plus she starts kindergarten next year (big event for her)....I just want to give her my all.

Tough decision.....I'll check back in Oct....see if it's 'a go'!!

I really can't complain about my pg. Son't get me wrong.. I got tired and all the peeing drove me nuts.. but over all it was pretty easy up until the end.. I hope the same thing for the next..

Hannah -  I love the metaphor of the jumping in a pool.  I completely agree - if you focus on all of the potential challenges, you'll just get overwhelmed and pessimistic.  You've known for quite a while what you wanted to do.  I'm very, very excited for you!  Please post about the Saturday visit!  I'm hoping that next cycle will be it for ya - that'll give you a June baby - is that right?  September was always lucky for me - I have two June bambinos.

It seems like yesterday that you had your little guy - can't believe he's 6 months already!  It seems to me that everytime I turn my head, Noah has some kind of 'birthday'.

Well I know most people think I am SUPER nuts, but I am almost ready for number 8!!! I just don't want Jameson to grow up without a close sibling. The rest of my kids are so close in age and I want him to have one close too.(the next one up is 8) SO...I think when he turns 1 in a month, its time to try again. PLUS...I am 38 so I don't want to wait any longer.
And this will FOR SURE be it!! :) I promise!! ha ha
