Provera???

My LMP was 12/22/07, I went to the dr 2/25/08 and she prescribed provera for me to take once a day for 10 days. Has anyone became pregnant after using provera? Any informamtion about Provera would help! Thanks in advance!  I just want alittle insight from anyone that knows much about Provera that could help.

provera is not to help you get pregnant. its just to regulate your period. i had to take it to get my preiod (period) going so that i can be put on clomid and get pregnant. but because i have pcos, my periods were irregular and my doctor said i might have to take it forever. but i think you take it like 3 or 6 months at a time. its just to regulate period. if you mean, can you get pregnant or does it stop you from it? yes. it doesnt stop fertility. it actually gets you to have your period although they might be some what different from your regular flow. so if youre having a period, youre ovulating better. did your doctor tell you why she would give you that? late periods is not a good enough reason. i mean how late are your periods? did you skip months? that would be the only reason and if you miss your periods. other than that, i dont think you needed to be put on it. if your plans are to get your period to come every month instead of skeipping so that you can take fertility treatment , then makes sense. talk to your doctor and see what her plans are.
