Pubic bone pain/Open Forum if needed

Hi ladies, hope you all had a nice long weekend.
I posted before about my pubic bone pain and it has worsened. Did any of you have it and what did you do to aleviate the pain? Doctor is aware and said it is normal but some days on a scale of 1-10 I am at a 10 in regards to pain. I was reading my pregnancy book and this condition was actually listed as a pregnancy complication??? Do any of you know why??
My pain is considered to be the pubic bone and hip shifting out of position. Here I am at 22w2d and can barley walk. ;(
Any help would be appreciated.

Oh wow! I am sooo sorry you are going through that pain! It must really suck! I had some pelvic pain in my last two preg. but not that early and not as bad as you said yours is! Have you told the doc. how bad it gets?

i got my hip out of alignment a few weeks ago. call a physical therapist, depending on exactly what the problem is they may be able to show you some stretches to re-align things.

If it is that bad your Dr should have you come in to check you out. Is it like a sharp shooting pain or like you pulled something? I carried my DD low & I had bad pain but ended up on bedrest so being flat on my back helped the pain alot!

My pain started right at 11 weeks. It feels like a shooting burning pain and is only gone when on my back in bed. It is so bad that it wakes me up at night if I shift positions. I even have to lift my pelvis area up to roll over in bed and then to get up in the morning I have to sit on the side of the bed until the pain eases up a bit.  I have even recently heard the area cracking out of wack. I am miserable.
I guess I will once again mention it to my doctor. They seemed to not be too concerned but now it makes me tear up and I am not a cryer.

That is the worst pain/discomfort of pregnancy. I had the same exact thing with my DD, and with my DS it intensiified so much more. I was in extruitiating amount of pain. I did a web search for it, something with pubis symphonis or something. But it does deal with the pelvic bones. I found nothing to relieve it. No amount of resting with pillows between the legs or bathes or anything b/c as soon as you stand up and start walking, it's crippling. I could barely walk. It started with my 2nd at only 12 weeks. And I kept waitressing until 34 weeks.

I feel for you honey.

Yeah~ that dose not sound good. Maybe you should try taking some of the pressure off by wearing a belly band. It did wonders for me w/ DD. I am 15 wks now & sometimes feel like this baby is bouncing off my cervex. I hope I don't carry this one as low as DD. It is so hard when you work cause you can't just lay down when you need to. You can get the belly bands at mothercare maternity or ask your Dr. my sister got me one from the hosp. they use them to hold the monitors on.

I definitely agree with everyone about talking to the doc again.  If it is really just the bones moving around, and not some other issue that can be addressed a different way, I think Vicodin is safe during pregnancy if not taken too late in the pregnancy (issue with baby becoming too fond of the codeine if used close to birth, I think).  I only note this because I used to get ovarian cysts that were so bad all I could do is pace, not sit, not lie down.  And Vicodin used to handle it so fast I would almost cry with relief.  I'm not a painkiller user, so it meant a lot that I was willing to take it.  But sometimes, what the docs call "appropriate pain management" is a flat-out f-ing miracle, pardon my language, but when you need relief and relief is given, there is no other feeling in the world but gratitude.  Call the doc, good luck honey.

Ask you Dr about seeing a chiropractor.  I had alot of pain due to sciatic nerve when pregnant and it helped to keep it managable.

Sorry, I didn't see your post back to me until this afternoon.  I went to bed early, I have been so tired.  My spotting came back and has been there all day, it is still brown but I can't help but worry that I am going to lose yet another pregnancy.  If I do lose this one I think I will be done ttc- don't think I can continue to go through it.  I have to go back for my HCG test tomorrow a.m. and probably won't get the results until friday morning around 8 (when the office opens up).  The thought of getting those results makes me want to throw-up, I am so scared and anxious.  Have you had any more problems with spotting?  Sorry to hear about the formula in the play kitchen- that must have been a real chore to clean up- sounds like something my son would do.  Well, hope you have a great afternoon- I'm off to take my ds to gymnastics.

sorry, I don't get back on the computer until the mornings, as I work at night.

How long have you been having the spotting? Are you having constant dull cramping as well? That would drive me crazy about waiting till tomorrow for the results. Can't you ask the doctor to put stats on it, or have the hospital call your dr as soon as the results are ready (that same day)? That's what I had done with my last pregnancy (blighted ovum). That would scare me about the spotting. Spotting in early pregnancy is normal however. I had it throughout both of my children's pregnancies due to placental abruption (sp?). I know if I saw the pregnancy related spotting with this pregnancy, I'd probably freak out. I've had m/c's before, so I know the pain involved.

Keep us posted about the results.

This was actually the whole reason I was searching the net.  I have been having that constant pubic bone pain for a little over a week.  Mine doesn't sound as bad as yours though.  In my searching the internet and talking to the doctor here is some of what I found out.  Most likely it can sometimes worsen through the preganancy but usually after one delivers it gets better, great I know(I ain't due until December). It is supposedly the bones in your pubic/pelvic area(there are 4) they are trying to accomidate how the baby is resting in you and then they move and rub and get misaligned. Being mis- aligned is the actual source of the pain.  A few remedies are warm baths and soaking(this helped me temporarily), ice pack( haven't tried but the bath did help), also because alot depends on how the baby is resting a chiropractor can help, other things I saw listed where sleeping with a pillow between your legs, when you walk to make sure your weren't "john wayne" walking I guess less ackward space between your legs the better.  There are billions of things I found nothing seems to be a cure all though. Hope someone has some good advice for noth of us.  Let me know if you find anthing that works for more than 1hour I would be very much appreciated. SOrry this is so long winded.

so sorry to hear that you're having so much pain. i had it with my first child and am now 32w1d and the pain is so much worse. i find getting out of bed difficult. the only thing that i find helps is sitting on a gym ball. it seems to take some of the pressure off your pelvis and helps get the baby into a better position. the only consulation is that i found the labour to be less painful than the actual pelvic pain so good luck and i hope it eases for you.
