Quad screen results?

I always skip every test offered to eliminate the fear of false positives. I also feel that u/s are very thourough at 20 weeks, and I seem to rely on them to dictate the health of my baby.

With this 4th pregnancy, as usual, I declined the quad screen.
I went in for my 20 week u/s....and they found something (echogenic focus on the baby's heart).
It was a 'weak' sign of Down's, and if I had a negative quad screen, I should be able to relax.

So, my dr. offered me the quad screen after this was found.
He said it wasn't too late.  I did the blood test on Tues, and I still have no results.

HOW LONG DO YOU NORMALLY HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE RESULTS?
I'M GOING FREAKING NUTS.

OMG, the wait has got to be terrible. I believe it's only a week, I will try to look it up for you.

Okay, it says that quad test results should be available in 2-3 days. I would call because if it is neg they won't call you (that's what my dr. said). So, call so that you can relax over the weekend. I pray everything is normal!

I am so sorry that you even have to worry about this.  I know its going to be immposible to not think about.  I declined mine too and now I wish I hadn't because I 'm just as worried as I would have been waiting for results.  Keep us posted and try to keep your head up

Thank you both for your immediate responses.
I called them, and they just said that the dr. didn't leave any notes for them to call me.....So, they are saying that no results are in.  
I asked HOW LONG?  She didn't know.  She did say that if they don't get results w/in a week, they will call the lab.  A WEEK?  F&%*!  OMG, I have to pull myself together, clean this house, have a birthday party for my 4year old.....ugh....I feel like I'm frozen w/worry.

I had the triple screen done, and the results took about a week.

I'm sorry you're stressing, but I bet everything is fine.

Mine took about a week as well.  Just relax.  I know your baby is fine.  I feel it in my heart.

I had the test done and TOTALLY wish I hadn't! It took exactly a week for the doctor to call me with the results. It creates complete panic in mother's that is NOT needed!

i was told by the lab here that it takes 4 days to get results from quad test...good luck with the results and try not to worry too much (i know it's easier said than done)  take care of yourself:)
