Quantitative Hcg negative...tested too early?

I took the Quantitative Hcg test 8 DPO(suspected) and results were Hcg <5 and Progesterone 8.1 (aka not pregnant). I am still having all of the symptoms I had with my first pregnancy, and am at day 28 of my cycle which has been ranging from 28-35 days.  Is it possible that I tested before implantation occured and could really be pregnant now? Or would the Hcg/Progesterone still have showed higher numbers that early on? (FYI: I tested negative on 2 early HPTs at 6 weeks pregnant with my first child)

I could be wrong but I thought implantation didn't take place until around 8-10DPO.

Thanks for responding, my doctor won't give me another test b/c he says it is accurate; I had an ultrasound the other day to have my fibroid checked, but they wouldn't tell me if they could see a pregnancy or not.  So I guess I'll have to wait-- still having lots of pregnancy symptoms though!

8 DPO is probably too early to really know for sure. I got tested at about 7 DPO (it was negative) and here I am in week 14 of pregnancy. Let us know what happened!

It wasn't an obstetrical ultrasound, just a pelvic to look at the fibroid.  I asked if they could tell me, but they told me I had to wait for my doctor to go over the results.

I think they would have told you if they saw a pregnancy on your ultrasound.

It would be too early to see a pregnancy by ultrasound anyway. Hcg has to be over 1000 before the fetus is visible (says my MD anyway). Good luck!
