Question about Cervical Position

by poetgirl1979, Oct 10, 2005 12:00AM
I have been charting my cervical position as well as cervical mucus. I know cervical position can vary a lot. I was just curious what a high, soft, wet, but CLOSED cervix means? I am about 8 dpo, and af is due a week from today. Right after "o" my cp dropped to low and firm, like nose, which I know is normal. But since yesterday,  now it seems to have gone back up a bit, and gotten a bit softer, still wet, but remained closed. I know it's not accurate, but I can't seem to find anything online about what this means. Just wondering what other's experiences have been. My cm is creamy, milky white and increased as well. Thanks and God bless!!! =D

I'm sorry I can't help with this one.  I'm horrible about the whole C position thing.  Your symptoms could be pregnancy or PMS.  I hate that the symptoms are the same.  Oh well.  I have 4-5 days to go!

If you are past OV and waiting for AF, then it would probably be wise not to feel your cervix anymore.  It's not good to be poking around in there if you don't absolutely have to (bacteria and such)...especially while TTC and possibly being pg.

Just as with discharge after OV, your cervical position is not going to indicate pg sooner than a hpt will.

Good luck!

Hi there,

I am in the same boat as you right now charting everything!  I was looking on the internet and came across a really helpful website http://www.fertilityuk.org/nfps401.html
now, this may not help at all and might be a little to much info but I was quite confused by peoples description of cervical mucus / position and never really wanted to ask the 'in detail' questions...hee hee
this website shows you diagrams on what to look for when charting the cervical mucus and position and like you and ttc i figured it had to be worth something - anyways thats it - good luck

I just wanted to let you know that last month,,,I went crazy checking my cervical position,,,,thinking this, that and the other,,,the position changed so much...alot...
I was so confused and thought am I or not pregnant,,,???
I checked everyday sometimes 3 times a day,,,it was somethin else,,,but in the end I got my period, and am in the same boat this month, but I am going to try and not obsess like l did last month,,,
I honestly don't think that there is anyway to tell through the cervical position until pregnancy is at least a few weeks into,,,,I could be wrong???.
I had myself convinced for sure last month because of the cervical mucus as well,,I am a freak when it comes to checking the position but I am not going to do it this time,,only for knowing when I'm ovulating,,which is soon.
As for help to you question I would think there would be info online  (I've searched everywhere)... if they were for certain able to tell that way,,,sorry for such a long thread,,,,just trying to help...good luck!!!
