Question about IVF

I have a friend who had a hysterectomy and now wants another baby.  She is going to have her sister carry it for her but is curious about the procedure.  If anyone has had IVF did it take on the first time or how many times did you have to do the procedure before it did take?  Any complications?

Hi, I just finished my first IVF cycle on April 1 and today I am 7w1d pregnant. I had no complications, besides the fact that I gained 10 pounds quite quickly because of all the hormones they put me on. I have to be honest though, everyone is different. I feel very lucky that my first IVF cycle "took" and that I was free of complications. There's a wealth of knowledge out there regarding IVF; I would have your friend start doing research as soon as possible. From the time I first went to see my fertility doctor, to the actual cycle, it was quite long because of all of the tests, etc., they had to do pre-IVF.
