Question for Peek

A little background before I ask my question.  My dd is 11 and is autistic,  She also has CP and a siezure disorder.  She is non-verbal (so I have NO clue what is going on when she is sick.  It is all a guessing game).  The Friday after Thanksgiving, my DD was fine during the day.  At about 10:00 PM she started acting like she didn't feel well (she was very tired and kinda whiny).  At 10:30 she threw up and started to have direheah (sp) really bad and had it all day Saturday and into the evening.  She was better on Sunday ( no more poos).  Being autistic, she is a VERY picky eater and has to be on Peide Sure for nutrtion.  OK, now for my question ( haha)......It has been almost 3 weeks since she has been sick and she still has NO appitite (sp) and seems run down.  Keep in mind that she is a Special ED class where the kids are sick all the time.  Is it normal for her to be feeling off after the flu?  I know it usually takes a while for her to get over an illness, but I am worried about how sleepy she seems sometimes.   She is very happy but is not eating much of anything either.  She will not even eat potato chips which are her favorite.  Do you think she needs to see the DR and have her blood checked out?  By the way, her meds are Depakote Sprinkles 125 mg in morning and 2-125mg pills in the evening, and 3/4 tsp of Paxil at bedtime.  She has been on both meds for a long time.  Any help or advice would be great!!  Thanks, Kasie

Kasie, I know I'm not peek but I just wanted to tell you my opinion.  I'd definitely take her in for the dr to examine her.  I hope your precious girl feels better soon.

I don't know much about pediatrics or her issues in particular, but I'd sure be taking her to the doctor.  Since she's non verbal, she might be really feeling very bad but can't say what's wrong.

Thanks everyone.  My dd seems to be doing better.  She has never been a good eater, and she finally started eating some yesterday.  She is also finally back to acting like herself.  I have to take her for her second half of her flu shot tomorrow, so I will talk to the doctor then.  Thanks to everyone who answered me.  Hope you are all well and you all have a great Holiday Season.  Kasie
