Questions and update

Had my dr.'s appt yesterday.  Baby is about 13 inches long and weighs close to 2 pounds.  Scheduled my glucose tolerance test and u/s.  Had to laugh b/c doctor asked me where the head is and I pointed out that baby was kicking on my right side so I really hope the head is on the left otherwise we have huge problems. LOL. He said I was right.  Call baby my little parasite but I guess not so little anymore.  This is a normal size for 25 weeks?  How long does the glucose test take? Hours?

I don't remember what my little weighed at that point.  I'm sure that yours is normal though because they would have told you otherwise.  The glucose test here only took an hour.  It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.  They had you drink the sugar stuff and then an hour later drew my blood.

Do you have to wait there or can you go back after an hour?

The first glucose test takes one hour- you remain at the hospital(lab) and sit until one hour is up then they will take your blood.  The drink tastes like orange soda

If you pass this test it is done, If for some reason you dont pass they will have you come back and take a two hour test.

My doc gave me the drink to keep with me till I took the test. I drank it and 1 hour later went to the lab to have my blood drawn. I didn't have to wait there. And when I had the second test (I failed the 1 hour) it was 3 hours and then you have to be there the whole time.

They made me stay at the office the entire time in case I had a reaction of some sort.  It really wasn't that bad though.  I had to see the doctor anyway, so they had me drink the stuff as soon as I arrived for my apt and by the time the doctor checked me and stuff my hour was up.  Good luck to you!
