Rash on my chest...17 weeks pg

by candie26, Apr 15, 2007 12:00AM
Just wondering if it is normal to develop a rash while preggo? I was cleaning house today and when I changed clothes to run an errand, I noticed that I have a red rash on my chest and bbs. It itches a little. I was using the same products that I have always used.

HI Candie , not sure about a rash , but i have experienced a LOT of itching , in my legs, my arms and my tummy !!! I dont know if it our skin that dries out or something ?? Im 17 weeks tomorrow , and if you dont mind me asking , is this your first baby ?? If so , how do feel , are you showing / feeling anything yet ???? Just would love to talk to someone thats the same stage as me !!! This is my first and i still dont really feel prg !!!!! I dont realy think im showing yet altho my tummy is a lot harder , and im not really sure if im feeling the baby yet , just a lot of bubbles and pops going on !!??
Anyway , just wanted to ask you that !!! I hope you find a remedy for the itchies , i know it can be a nightmare , especially at night . Iv'e been using Gold Bond Medicated body lotion , ex strength . And it seems to be ok for me . Good luck hun xxxxxxxx

With my 2nd daughter I broke out into a rash all over that was horribly itchy.  I was told it was my hormones and adjusting to being pregnant, lol I was around 15 weeks when it happened.  I thought perhaps I was allergic to my baby!  Talk to your doctor before using any creams and to make sure it isn't anything serious.

i also developed a nasty rash on my chest, after discussing it with my doctor turns out i developed an allergy to my necklace - prior to this i hadnt taken the necklace off in 5 years!

It could very well be something you have been using right along that you developed an allergy for due to hormones.

Gotta love those hormones!

The rash was gone the next day, so I don't know.

I actually feel really good. I have been showing for awhile now, but have only gained about 9 lbs. I have a pinched nerve in my butt, which really gives me he** sometimes and my feet hurt. Other than that, I feel great! I tire more easily, but that is to be expected. This is my first, but I had 2 m/c last year. The itching you feel is from skin stretching, so moisturize and try not to scratch. I have heard that makes stretch marks worse!
