Rectal fistulotomy and vaginal delivery

In January, 2005, I had a rectal fistulotomy after approx. 3 prior abscesses that required surgical intervention.  I am now pregnant for the first time and would like to know if this has any impact on my delivery.  Is a c-section indicated to prevent tearing?  Is there scar tissue or anything else that would be a problem during a vaginal delivery?  Thanks.

Can you expand on fistulotomy? I have had fistula's in the past and had to have about 3 lanced and packed but it has been a couple of years since this has happened. They said next time surgery to fix the problem. Do you think we are in the same boat?
Plus, I broke my tailbone 2 years ago, does anyone think this will impact delivery?? I am 23 wks.

The fistulotomy was the repair of a fistula that developed as a result of the abcesses.

wow, so you know how painful it is??? These days, sitting on a picnic bench or hard bar stool really makes my tailbone hurt. I thought sometimes during childbirth the baby likes to stretch it's neck backwards and sometimes breaks the mothers tailbone. Scary thought. Good luck with your next delivery :)

I'm not sure about the fistulotomy other than that they had to go in and repair it under anesthesia and it had to heal from the inside out.
