SEX AND M/C??

by CODNER5, Dec 07, 2006 12:00AM
Has anyone ever heard about anyone on these posts that talked about starting to m/c within hours of sex?
I m/c 10-23 at 7 weeks. We BD that morning before I started spotting-bleeding.Went to dr. and no baby anymore. Is there any way at all that the m/c was caused by the bd'ing?
We are ttc and if I get preg. Sex is going to be 'out' for atleast 12 weeks if this is a possibility. I know Dr. will say that it cant cause m/c, but was wondering if anyone on here ever had that same scenario??

I was spotting since before I got my BFP. My doc said the spotting was fine because it was brown (which means old blood) and it was never heavy, no cramping, no pain. My dh and I had sex and afterwards a big blob of bright red blood came out,it went down hill from there. I know they say sex doesn't cause miscarriages and if the pregnancy couldn't sustain sex then it never would have made it...But in the back of my mind, everything was fine until then, so my dh and I decided next time I get preggo we will hold off on sex for awhile even if I'm not spotting, there is plenty of other things that can be done. Anyways, you and your dh need to decide what is better for you emotionally, if it will make you feel better to wait, then wait, if when the time comes you feel ok with it, then go for it =)

Hello all!!! When I had my IVF, sex was off limits....that was even  afterwards for awhile (even though I am m/c)....so I guess that next time I will also not have sex..... they said that it was very important not to have an orgasm....Does this cause your uterus to expel???? I don't know but I thought this was very interesting!!! Thought that I would share this with you...makes sense!!! I will not BD until I am 9 mo. preggers, my poor DH!!!  I am sure he understands more than most men!!!  have a great day ladies!!

I miscarried in 9/21/06 and right after bd'ing I started spotting with eventually lead to heavy bleeding but my doctor told me that was impossible to be the cause of the m/c because the baby was only the size of a quarter and it was protected by so much fluid.
Wish you luck next time around!!!

My m/c started right after bd'ing as well, I got up after to go to the restroom and there was bright red blood all over everything. Everything you read says sex won't cause a m/c, but I'm a little skeptical myself.

I'm pretty skeptical myself, and sometimes I have these dreams that (might be TMI), we are going to have sex (it's not as bad as it seems), and then afterwords I bleed real heavy.  I'm 13 weeks and we haven't had sex since I found out I was pregnant, I'm not in the mood, nor do I want to chance it.
