STOMACH FLU WHILE PREGNANT

STOMACH FLU WHILE PREGNANT

Hi Girls,
Well, I came down with the stomach flu yesterday and would like to just crawl up under a rock.  I couldn't keep anything down yesterday and today have managed to keep down some Sprite.  I've never had the stomach flu with my other pregnancies.  Does anyone know if it has any reprecussions? I'm only 7 weeks along.  Thanks!

Hey honey,

no reprecussions, just makes you miserable.  Keep up with your fluids..thats more important then food.  Keep on your prenatals.  Have a fever of 100 for more then 8 hours call the doctor.  I hope you feel better soon, been praying for you guys.

Thanks!  This stinks.  I hate throwing up anyways and I think the morning sickness and the stomach flu are fighting each other making it worse.  I did take a Tylenol and got my fever down.   I've been keeping Sprite down this morning finally- I know it should probably be Gatorade or something besides soda but at this point, I'm just glad to be keeping something down.  How are you feeling???  You are getting close!!  Hopefully I'm on the downhill slide of this yucky stuff. I couldn't even sit up yesterday without throwing up. Today I can finally sit up.  Improvement!!  Keep in touch!

You poor thing!  I'm sorry your feeling so badly...its hard to be pregnant and sick.  If the sprite works, keep going with it.

I'm ok... lots of bed rest.  Lots of contractions, but not enough to go in for.  Weekly doctor apts.  Steroid shots for the babys lungs.  Nausea, vomiting, pain....same old things... I'm miserable, but hanging in there.  I'll try to do better in keeping up with you, some days I can't even lift my head.  I hope to feel better after Lilly comes and I can get my much needed surgeries.  I'm living day to day, blah!

I totally feel for you.  I can't imagine feeling like this every day as you do.  I will pray that you feel tons better after Lily and can get your surgeries and just enjoy being Mommy.  Jaden doesn't understand that I'm sick and the poor kiddos just keeps coming over to me and signing please for me to hold him.  I don't want to hold him b/c I don't want to get him sick and then he screams because he doesn't get it.  I hope you feel better as I know exactly what you are saying when you say you don't want to lift yoru head off the pillow!  The bummer of all of this is that our neighborhood garage sales are this weekend and they are awesome and I'm missing them.  I usually get a ton of boutique clothes for Kirsten.  Oh well.....God had other plans!  Talk to you soon!

Aww, I know its hard to not hold Jaden right now, he doesn't understand your sick.  I had to deal with that with Jack and my illness, its sad.  I'll be praying for you and you'll be better soon.  I'm happy things are going ok with new baby, be sure to keep me posted!

Aw, it has been going around.  Almost everyone I work with has had it, I was up puking all night and into Monday morning.  It got better, but even now my tummy is a little tender.  I would keep an eye on the fever and if you are really puking alot, call your nurse.  I had bad m/s with all of my pregnancies, vomiting several times a day, not able to keep anything down, and with my first one I got a tummy bug too.  My Dr. made me come in to be evaluated, they were afraid I would need to be admitted to the hospital and be given fluids.  I begged to be given a little more time, and it passed.  Most Dr.'s will give Zofran now, most insurances cover it it's safe in pregnancy.  We don't see many other nausea meds though.  I hope you feel better soon.  The first few months are rough.
