Safe Skin Care

by Rachel O, Jul 28, 2007 11:12AM
Hi Ladies.  I just wanted to get some opinions and suggestions for safe skin care during pregnancy.  I have been to the dermatologist, and the estetician there gave me a product that she assures me is safe to use during pregnancy.  It is a combination of glycolic acid and salicylic acid (very low percents of both).  There is just SO MUCH variance in opinions of acne products, that now I don't know what is safe!!  I know the major things such as accutane, and retin are horrible and I have never used them, but the other known ingredients in most face washes are the one's that seem to be most debated. I just wanted to see what products any of you might be using, and what you have been reccommended by your OB's.  Thanks for any input!!!

I use clearasil that has salicylic acid  in it. I've been using it from day 1 and my pregnancy is fine. I use the pads to clean my face. It seems to help some.

I used ProActiv at the start of my pregnancy, but pregnancy did my adult acne issues a miracle... I started using it again, only because my wedding is in less than a week and I am trying to look good... Now to get rid of the puffiness that seems to have taken over my whole body (especially my hands - not enough that my rings are too small just the joints and skin feels tight -  and my eyes *sigh*)
