Second AF after D

by Tia Lucila, Jun 22, 2006 12:00AM
Seven weeks after my D&C (for a m/c) I had my first AF.  Its been 34 days since my AF.  Are my cycles going to be irregular for a while?  I know I'm supposed to think about how my cycles were before I got pregnant and figure it out from there, but before I was pregnant I was on the pill.  The last time I was having natural cycles was in 1997.  Plus, in 1997 I was a little skinny teenager, so I remember having wierd cycles.  Maybe I'm pregnant, but I really want to rule this out as an alternative before I get excited.

I got my second af after a natural m/c on day 35 - normally i'm a 30-32 day cycle - but things i guess prior to the pregnancy ran on the longer end b/c on clomid and then letrazole. but the m/c can definitely change your cycle for a little bit at first - it should figure itself out though and get back on track. or it could be that your pregnant - if you haven't used any protection or weren't trying not to get pregnant then it's possible - they say that time after m/c is good time to get pregnant - you can always test, but be prepared for a negative. hopefully though it will be the opposite. good luck.

My first 2 cycles were really off. It can take a while. My first AF was 6 weeks after d&c. Then my 2nd AF was about 8 or 10 after the first AF. Weird. Then after that, they went back to my normal 31 to 32 day cycles every month. I always end up taking HPTs if I miss my period, even when I know its going to be negative and not even ttc, but I guess I just need to make sure. But yeah, AFs can really be off for a few cycles until your body gets back to normal after a m/c and D&C.

I had a D&C done in march, I was supposed to be 10 weeks. Before this, my period's came every 3 mondays.

It took 8 weeks for me to get my 1st AF. Now my cycles are 32-34 days. I also have lots of spotting in between. It starts after we've BD in the middle of the month, and the spotting continues until AF shows. I started to take ovcon 50 yesterday just to stop the dang spotting. So much for TTC.

Hope this helps. It does take awhile for our bodies to get back to normal. Sometimes it won't go back to the way it was before. I have a 2 1/2 DD and 10 month DS. After having both of them, my cycles changed as well.

I had a D&C at the end of March and 30 days later I got my first af. Then the second one was 38 days. We were TTC and I think it was late cause I was so anxious about it.
It finally came and we have been TTC again!
I should know by the 4th of July!
I am sure you will become more "normal" as time goes on.
