Okay, so dh and I have been ttc for almost 3 years (since ds turned 1)and have had 3 m/c. This month I was put on 100mg of clomid to do a clomid challange test, and dh and I will do okps and timed intercourse this cycle and see what happens.  Here's the thing, my doc said we would do 3 IUI's with clomid and if it didn't work we would go on to IVF.  Well, I just spoke to the infertility nurse and found out that with Insurance co.'s in New Hampshire that this is not allowed, we have to do 3 rounds of injectable fsh with IUI before moving on to IVF.  I told the nurse that if that's the case, I don't want do do three more IUI's with clomid (have already had two)and then have to go onto the injectables anyway.  I am so scared!!!!!!! I HATE needles!!!! Anyone have any experiances to share? Unfortunately we will have to skip next cycle because we will be on vaca. in Virginia and I would not be here for the tests early in the cycle (af is supposed to arrive the day we leave, yeah for me!), so we would not start this treatment until the middle to end of September.  Everyone wish me good luck and lots of babydust so maybe we won't have to do the shots- this is all so overwhelming!  Thanks for letting me vent my fears and for any experiances you may be able to share, good luck to all of you and I pray you all get your bfp's soon.  For those who are already pg- hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy!

I have also had 3 m/c's within one year, and my son will be two in November.  My OB said that women with reoccuring m/c's will usually have 3 in a row then the 4th pregnancy will be full term.  So that gave me some hope, he left it up to me on wether I wanted to do some tests or give it one more shot.  He said that the 4th pregnancy is full term 70% of the time.  That gave me a lot of hope.  Then I was pregnant in a month and a half and am now 8 1/2 weeks pg.  I am so excited and worried at the same time.  And I really hope the best for you, I would also hate to have injections so often.  :)  I hope this helps a little:)

Thank you so much for sharing, it does give me hope. My doc told us the same thing, but I wasn't sure how much I believed him until now.  Unfortunately for us getting pg doesn't come easy for us, it was about 6 mo to get pg with ds, it took 6 mo. the second time (it was a blighted ovum), 18 mo. to get pg the third time, and 8 mo. to get pg the last time (I m/c on June 9, just shy of 6 wks).  I just wish I knew why it was taking so long to get pg in the first place, much less why we keep losing them.  How far apart were your m/c (if you don't mind me asking)?  Good luck to you- I hope the rest of your pregnancy is happy, healthy, and problem free!

All my m/c's were exactly 6 months apart, always took 6 months to get pregnant for some reason, and I would miscarry as soon as I realized that I was pregnant.  My last m/c was the first week of May, and when I went to the doctor he gave me prometrium and said I could take it just incase my progesterone levels are low but wouldn't hurt me if my body didn't need it.  So I am taking them.  I got pregnant the middle of June!  Like a month and a half since the last m/c!  I was totally shocked!  I wasn't expecting a positive test and there it was!  I have also recently talked to a PA about a few things and she said that her sister did the same thing... had 3 miscarriages and the 4th was full term, and that is very common.  I go to the doctor tomorrow for my first appt and ultrasound, can't wait:)  It's the weirdest thing... because when we concieved this time we were really trying and I wasn't really going off of my "supposed to be" fertile days that I had marked on the calendar.  Funny how things work out:)

hi. it's me again. i share your fear of needles!! i'm going to be starting an ivf cycle after my next af (about 2 weeks or so)and am petrified of the shots - but it's worth every bit of fear and pain if it works (G-d Willing)!!! It's a good thing you found out about how the insurance coverage works before you started another clomid round and now can go straight to the needles (yuck-just saying it or writing in this case gives me shivers). i think that with shots the chances are better (even not ivf) b/c stronger - not sure, but think. it's good though that if you have to go the ivf route that at least your insurance covers. i now have to somehow get onto another insurance plan that will actually cover some of the ivf and when we're done with it they really only cover a small portion of it (especially counting in the insurance premium each month) - but better than nothing and G-d Willing it'll work and be worth every penny!! you know what though it may be a great thing that you're going on vacation - sometimes that's just what you need - a vacation and a break from all the ttc craziness and stress. your "skipped" month may actually be just what you need and the month that'll bring you your bfp!!! thinking of you. enjoy your vacation!! where are you going?

Yes, I am the one with the mid cycle spotting.  I have to wait to see if I have it again this cycle ( I am on cd 10) and if I do than next cycle I have to go in for a sonohysteogram to make sure there is no polyps or any other problems with my uterus.  Personally I believe that it is just my hormones getting back on track after my m/c because the same thing happened after my second m/c, and I had the test done and everything was fine.  Hopefully there will be little to no spotting this month.  Keep your fingers crossed for me, really don't want to have to do that test again!

We (dh, ds, and myself) are going to williamsburg, Virginia for vacation.  We are also going with my mother and father-in-law.  We used another family members time share to get a nice 2 bedroom condo for the 10 days that we will be gone.  The worst part will be the drive, at least 10 hours, with a almost four year old- fun for me!  We will be doing a good share of the driving in the afternoon/evening so hopefully he will sleep. Oh, yeah one more negitive, what am I going to do for 10 days without all the ladies here to help keep me sane? lol.

Thank you so much for your well wishes, as I have said before you have always been so supportive and much appreciated.  I hope for you that you get that bfp soon- maybe even before you have to do the IVF.  I guess we will get past our fears one way or another and, as you said, it will be totally worth it in the end.

oohh, sounds like fun!! i love car trips - i'm sure it'll be different when i have a kid to entertain in the back seat, but still. hopefully he'll sleep!! if you have a portable dvd player that'll be something to help entertain him - barney and the like can be so mesmerizing. well i'll miss hearing from you, but i'm sure that you'll survive a few days away from us - although i know it's hard. i was away tuesday night and wednesday morning - i thought i was gonna go crazy without checking on here and seeing what was going on. not that we'll be glad your gone, but happy that your getting a much deserved vacation - hopefully relaxing and fun-filled. hope your in-laws are willing to babysit some nights so you and dh can get out a little. hope you have a wonderful time and the relaxing is the kicker to get you that healthy bfp!! HAVE FUN!!!

Thanks, it is definately a much needed vaca.  Well, we have a Dodge Ram Conversion Van, it seats seven and has it's own tv and DVD player so that won't be a problem.  Unfortunately, we don't have the capabilites to record tv shows onto dvd's to play, ds doesn't watch cartoons and kids shows (he only lasts for about 5 min.), he will only watch shows where they are rebuilding cars, motorcycles, etc.  My in-laws are definately willing to watch the little guy, I have already mentioned it and my MIL said it wouldn't be a problem.  I think she feels like we don't get enough time to ourselves but with dh's schedule when he isn't working he would much rather be spending time as a family so we don't get out on our own very much.  My ds is almost four and we have only ever done 1 night away without him, I guess we feel we have just as much fun with him as without him.  My theory on the whole situation is that I can never get today back, so I might as well enjoy it.

Well, here's hoping that both you and I get our bfp's before we have to start worrying about those shots!=)

Hi.  I'm 35 weeks along and have been giving myself Lovenox injections twice a day in the STOMACH since 16 weeks and will have to continue to do so until about 3 months after the baby is born because of a blood clotting disorder called Thrombophilia.  I hate needles too but honestly, it doesn't even phase me anymomre.
We are strong women and it's amazing what we can do when we have to.
If you have to go that route, don't freak out, you'll get used to it and it'll become second nature.
I would rather give myself 30 injections a day than evr have my morning sickness again LOL.
Good luck!

Just wanted to let you know that the Fsh shots really aren't that bad there kind of like a little pen not like a real needle, I am about to start another cycle of clomid and shots. I also have a clotting disorder that was found during my first pregnancy and I have to take injections while I'm pregnant and while were trying to concieve (which has already been 6 months)
I feel so frustrated!! 6 months of needles for nothing!! Were trying our 3rd IUI this month and hopefully it will work so then I only have another 9 months of needles to look forward to.Not that I'm complaning I'm just running out of spots to put the damn things , I'm brused everywhere! So take it from some one who has to poke herself a least one a day, the fsh shots are really a breeze maybe you could have someone give them to you, I know for me it's always better if I don't actually see the shot piercing the skin. Best of luck!!

girlybuff: As you can see I can definetly realate I'm on Tinzaparin shots.I had a large DVT in my first prgnancy and they also found out my LA was positive.

I had 2 rounds of IVF right now waiting as I see the Dr. Monday 14th for the results...Keep me in your prayers.

The shots are not that bad I too was nervous but if you wear contacts (touching your eye) becomes habit.  The needle is VERY short like a tack-not as thick very thin. NOW that I made you feel better ...here is the scary part...When your follicles are getting big and ripe you will then upgrade to progetrone shots (atleast for me-don't know much on supository) these your husband must do in the butt must be in the muscle...yes we have muscle there ladies haha
These truthfully will hurt big needle and thicker must go all the way in. If you don't like prepping the needle have your hubby do it this way you don't have to look and put your face in a pillow...Oh and really be nice an hour before so he doesn't take it out on your tush ha ha ha!
