Should I go to Labor and Delivery

by ourbabydreams, Jul 02, 2004 12:00AM
Hi girls Doctor has already told me that she will not stop labor now if I go into labor. Here is what has been going on since last night well around 2 am. I started having what I thought was BH but they became steady. I was having one every ten minutes for a couple hours so I called L&D and they told me to take some Tylenol pm and take a warm shower and lay on my left side. Also to drink lots of water. I did that and finally got tired enough to go to sleep. I got up a few times to go potty and every time I did I would have another one before I fell back to sleep. Well since I have been awake I am still having them pretty regularly but not real painful.

I just really do not want to go in of this is not the real thing. I hate sitting in those beds for so long and have to be sent home. But I am pretty uncomfortable. But that could be from being tired and hormonal too. I have had BH since 17 weeks and this morning I just lost it. I am so tired of these BH that it is making me nuts. Its like I have been in labor since then. DH is being great and said he would take me. But also says that he does not think I am ready which I agree. So what would you do? Go get checked or just wait and see what happens.

You know what else I do not even have a bag ready for the hospital. The crib is not here yet. We ordered it from the Navy online store. Oh this is nuts. Thanks for any suggestions

Just wanted to let you know I was back. It was all still braxton hicks because nothing is really changing. Nurse said my cervix was soft but not dialated. They were going to give me a shot that would have helped me relax but I declined. I dont like taking anything that is real stong that could hurt Emily. So I am home just relaxing and uncomfortable. Not sure if I will get back on here so I hope you all have a wonderful 4TH OF JULY!!!

LOL I was too late! I was goign to get on here and tell you not to go and just wait it out. I knwo they  are annoying, but contractions aren't really doing anything useful until they are so painful you can barely stand. I have always heard that until you are saying through clenched teeth "Honey get the car", you aren't really in active labor! As long as you can walk and talk comfortably, they will jsut send you home.  Besides, home is a more comfy place to labor in teh beginning anyway!

Not sure if you're on today, but I am glad you went to get some peace of mind. My boss was telling me that she didnt have hardly any pain with her daughter and wasnt gonna go to the doc, but her dh said "let's go", and its a good thing they did! she delivered 3 hours later!
so get some rest and keep us informed:)
