Sinus infection and pregnancy

by fayezer, Dec 22, 2006 12:00AM
Does anyone know of safe/good ways of dealing with sinus infections while pregnant?  I am in the 1st trimester and have had 3 m/c over the last year and I don't want to risk anything with this one but my teeth and gums ache and my head is pounding from the infection.  Any advice?

Did you call your OB?  Mine gave me Amoxacilin for mine.  I tried Sudafed and it didnt work.

My doc gave me Ceftin when I was pg.  Also, go to your local pharmacy or grocery store and buy Saline Mist, a nasal spray.  Use it as much as you want.  It is just salt water solution.  I have chronic sinus problems and my doctor told me to use it liberally.  It does not make it go away, you will probably need antibiotics for that, but used on a regular basis, it keeps the sinuses from becoming inflamed.
