Ryan will be 7 months old on Sat. crazy how times flys by. He is now rolling all over the place and changing his diaper is getting harder to so!! When I lay him on his back, he rolls to his belly and seems to like being on his belly now. He rolling four or five time :-) I have begun to help him sit up and he seems to stay up for a min and falls forward, back, or to the side. How can I help him stay up. How long does it take for them to sit up for a long time? He is still a crapy sleeper. He sleeps with me but he doesn't like for me to touch him, if he kicks me or I touch him he gets so mad so he may like the crib - i haven't even tried. Anyway what do you guys think about the sitting. How did you help your littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys on along?
I know tummy time helps them strengthen their muscles so make sure he is getting enough tummy time. Also, just helping them sit up uses those muscles too. Do you have a bumbo chair? That helps with upper body strength. Brody is sitting up for the most part on his own. We have to be right there with him though because he's still not quite stableStable angina Unstable angina enough and does topple over occasionally. Ryan will get there, just give it time. Every baby develops at their own rate (;
Ashtyn will be 7 months old on Friday and we are working with him on sitting up as well. His therapist told me to use tummy time to strenghten the muslces. Also, assisted sitting on the floor helps! I don't think Ashtyn is teethingTeething Teething symptoms yet though....!!!!
The bumbo chair is available at walmart and babies r us. Lots of different places. Here's a link so you can see what it looks like. It really helps strengthen those muscles! http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=8070691
I think you can get a bumbo at Target. I got mine from a friend at my shower. You worried about him rolling all over and now he's doing it. Try not to worry (: Brody isn't really babbling at all yet. He just squeals still. I'm looking forward to the babbling becuase I think they're so cute when they do that.
dd is 6 months today. she's been sitting for a couple of weeks. she went from flopping forward after 3 seconds to sitting for 20 minutes straight in one day. now she'll only topple if too tired or if she reaches too far for a toy. i'd say just keep trying. we did lots of sit-ups with her. you can use a boppy to help supportSupport Support 500 him. dd loves her bumbo, but likes it much more now than before she could sit. her favorite in the past few months has been the exersaucer, although i don't know if that strengthens abdominal muscles. interestingly, she just started to roll from belly to back this weekend. she did it a couple times previously, but not easily. no more tummy time now that she's figured that one out. she is yet to roll back to belly. guess it just emphasizes how different they all are.
I was just going to say the same thing. Brody has been rolling tummy to back and back to tummy for about 2 months now, believe it or not! They are all different, just like us!
my 9 month old nephew is at this stage...and starting to stand. i LOVE it when he babbles. he's got these uber chubby cheeks and this permanent frown so when he "talks" he looks like a very serious squirrel. it's too cute!!! and his laugh...omg the most ADORABLE!!!! lol when he does grin his two bottom teeth just stick out...(there his only teeth so far) he's adorable!!! i just love babies at this stage!!!
Ashtyn sat on his own for about 10 seconds earlier today!!! I was so excited!!!!!! He was leaning over kinda far, but he did sit up for a little while.
yay! as soon as he gets the balance thing figured out, he'll be sitting steady. i was a little worried when dd started to sit so much so quickly. after barely using their abdominal muscles, it's really gotta hurt to try to steady themselves. i just keep thinking of how sore i get after doing 2 sit-ups :)
Ryan has sat up for at least 10 seconds since last night and leans whay forward but how exciting. He still does not have good arm strength - never has.
