Sleep problems

by hopeintexas, Apr 25, 2005 12:00AM
Hey girls I am 23 wks pg and cannot sleep. I get almost there and my legs start twitching. I drives me nuts and I obviously can't sleep. I am waiting for my dr's office to open so I can ask him. Just thought I would see if anyone here has experienced the same thing.

I am 26 weeks and I have the same problem-- my legs don't actually twitch, but they feel twitchy 'inside' (does that make sense?).  My husband & I call it "spiders" because it feels like I have spiders running through my veins! It makes me crazy. The last few nights I have resorted to taking diclectin because I had it left over from the vomiting/nausea of the first 4 months. It makes me a bit drowsy, so I actually get a bit of sleep. I fugure it is safe to take, since it was prescribed for this pregnancy anyways. I'd love to hear what your doctor says. I don't go till May 11th-- and my doc already thinks I'm enough of a hypochondriac!

I'm the strange one here...I can't sleep because of sharp pains in my arms...any of you heard of that?  lol

I know this is late but maybe you will see it anyway.  I had the exact same problem...i felt like bugs were crawling in my legs...after several days with no sleep I laid crying b/c I couldn't fall asleep and I knew that I wouldn't be able to function another day if I didn't get some.  The doctor told me that it was restless leg syndrome and it was very common in pregnant women.  Sadly there is nothing that can be done for it.  He told me to take Tylenol PM, it is basically just tylenol and benedryl...it worked for me...

Good luck, and I promise, even though it feels like it now...it won't last forever.
