Sonis coughing and complaining of sore throat

HELP LADIES! I need some advice. My son, who is 9 has been coughing all day today and has now started complaining of a sore throat. You all know that I am having my c-section tomorrow and can not afford to get sick. I want Alex to be there with us too. Does anyone have any advice on medicine I can give him in order to slow down or stop this cold that he has coming on? Any advice would be appreciated!!

I'd call his dr, although I apologize, just saw this question and it is late. If he isn't running a fever, it should be ok. Sometimes they cough because of drainage which also makes their throat sore. Give him the correct dose of ibuprofen and call the dr about something like sudafed. If he continues or runs a fever, definitely get him checked out. Hope he get's better soon. I'm sorry this is happening to you at this time. Good luck tomorrow.
