I was told today that I have Strep B. What is this? how did i get it?
they gave me antibiotics to treat it, but didnt explain what it was really.
My doctor just told me that it is on 1/3 of the populations skin.
Can anyone help me out?
Anyone can have it and you cna have it when you have one baby but not have it for the next. I thought it was just a bacteria that was present at certain times. I didn't get oral antibiotics for it. They gave me two bags of IV antibiotics before I had my dd. I had to wait to get the epi until after I had the antibiotics. I also had to stay in the hospital for 48 hours after I had her so they could observe her and make sure she didn't get it.
I read you chlamydia (sp?) post today and I see you now post that you have strep B. I had a friend that was diagnosed with chlamydia several times before they told her she has Strep B. She claimed they told her they had misdiagnosed the chlamydia for Strep B... I don't know for sure if that is true or not!!
thanks, i will look into the mis diagnosis of chlamydia too and see if that is a possibility. It would calm things down here for me, and ease my nerves so i hope that is true.
Sorry if I wasn't too much help here...
there's a bit more info about it there....
