Strep Throat while pregnant

by Kimbr7, Jan 29, 2007 12:00AM
Has anyone had strep throat when they were pregnant.  I think I might have it along with a really bad cold.  I am going to mention it to my doctor today, but was not sure if this could be harmful to the baby?

I have it right now.  I am 11 weeks pregnant and the doctor put me on Keflex.  I am nervous about taking an antibiotic, but the nurse said it was better than running a high fever.  I already feel 100% better.

Definitely get a swab done.  Strep is nothing to mess around with.  If untreated it can lead to scarlet fever.
