Sucess rate of Pregnancy on Clomid

Sucess rate of Pregnancy on Clomid

by Starry eyes, Jun 23, 2004 12:00AM
I'm new, so please bare with me.

I just started taking Clomid. This is my second cycle on it. My first try, I had a very good response with no pregnancy outcome. My second one didn't go so well. I had a lot of follicles but my doctor didn't think that any would get big enough for me to ovulate.
So, I believed that this month nothing was going to happen. Two weeks later ( on cycle day 23) I had signs that I was going to ovulate so I used a ovulation test and it surged.
I have been having cramps and nausea a week after the surge.
Has any one else had the same symptoms and found out they were pregnant?
How many times have you tried clomid before coming pregnant?
Thanks for any responses.

I was pregnant on my first cycle of Clomid (I hear that is unusual).

As for your nausea, there is a good chance you may be pregnant.  From my own experience, I was sick almost immediately after conception took place.

Good luck!

I am on 50mg of Clomid and this month was my first cycle. I detected my LH surge on 6/12 and had lot's of cramping on 6/14 and 6/15, plus ewcm. I feel that I did ovulate, but I do not feel like I am preggo this month. The cramping actually lasted a week, but was not as intense during the end of last week. I have read that Clomid can make you O a little later in your cycle, so it could be the cramping was actually Oing. Which is still exciting!!! I really hope you are preggo! :) Keep us posted!

Thanks for your responses.

My husband and I have been trying for 1 1/2 years to get pregnant, so I'm at the point where I'm getting scared that it will never happen.
I have had almost every test done and most of them have came back normal. (husband has been checked also) I did find out that I'm insulin resistant and my doctor put me on Gluchage. It helped me to become more regular, but I still didn't conceive so I asked my Doctor if I could try clomid.
I haven't been told this, but I think that my "eggs" don't get mature enough for me to get pregnant, and that is why I wanted to try clomid, even if we have twins :)

I have always wanted to have a family, and I recently lost my mother, so I think that has me more worried than ever before that I will never have children.

Hearing your responses help, so I thank you all in advance.

This has nothing to do with Clomid because unfortunately I know nothing of this topic but I had a question for you.  Were you always nauseous-like 24/7 morning sickness?  Did you eat or drink anything that eased m/s for you?

Thanks for any advice.

I was wondering how long you had tried until you took clomid.
What mg were you on? (I'm on the lowest one)
Do you ovulate on your own or just needed a little "boost"?
Thanks.

Somthing I wanted to mention because of your comment on being insulin resistant is that I have been diagnosed with PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome) and it has many multiple symptoms, but insulin resistance is one of them and sometimes woman have to take Metformin(a form of gluchopage) in order to help conceive. I have not had to go that far yet, but this is my first cycle of Clomid so we are going to see what happens with this first. You can have PCOS without having to have developing cysts on your ovaries. Some symptoms of PCOS include: anovulation, hair growth on or around breast nipples or excessive hair growth on other areas usually only found in men, insulin resistance, male pattern baldness, enlarged ovaries, multiple cysts forming on ovaries, no AF or long and painful AF's, and irregular cyles  just to name a few. You might want to type in and do a search on PCOS. I know one site is "PCOS.com". I am not saying this is your situation, I just thought it was interesting when you mentioned the insulin resistance. :)

I was on 50mg of Clomid.  I did need an HCG injection to make me ovulate because I was not ovulating on my own.

My morning sickness was pretty much 24/7 and it seems to have eased a little.  What seemed to help me was to have a little something in my stomach, because if it was empty that was when I felt the worst.

On my post a few weeks ago I was asking about HCG numbers and could they be just high and still have a singleton pregnancy?  Turns out I am having TWINS.  Whoops!  Didn't think that would happen to me.

That is great news!

My husband and I wouldn't mind having twins.
When the doctor saw 12 follicles (second cycle on clomid) I was a little worried, but since not all of them would mature enough for me to release all of them it didn't stop us from trying when my ovulation test surged.

I also got the shot the first cycle to release it, but I still didn't get pregnant.
Do you have any idea how big your follicle(s)were?
Mine was at 23mm.
Thanks.

by MarianneR, Jun 23, 2004 12:00AM
To: starry eyes
The first one that matured was at 2.1cm.  After that one released we still saw another one that was at 1.9cm.  I think that is the second baby, though the doctor wouldn't admit to it.

I am on my first cycle of clomid 50mg....how long does it usually take to get pregenant on Clomid?  i have use a opk and have not detected a Lh surge is that bad?

To: Bailee5
I didn't have to use Clomid, but I have a question for Bailee5. My reproductive endocrinologist put me on Metformin to see if they could get me to ovulate. Once I was ovulating, he said there's no need for Clomid, that you'd only take it if you weren't ovulating. Amazingly, I'm 16 weeks pregnant without Clomid or anything else. I was on Metformin for 7 months before I became pregnant, but I started ovulating on a regular basis after being on it for only 3 months. Did your doctor start you on Clomid right away with the Metformin, or did you try Metformin for a while first to see if you'd ovulate? Just wondering because I've heard so many conflicting views on whether or not someone with PCOS should be started on Clomid, from so many different doctors and everything. I would love for you to let me know how it all turns out for you. I consider myself really lucky to be pregnant this time around, but of course am already thinking about if we want to try for another child, and how long it might take, and if fertility drugs would be the answer. Thanks.

I had both my babies with the help of Clomid. Worked the first time with my son, but on the 4th shot with my daughter. I do have PCOS and was diagnosed before my 2nd child was born. I had to go on glucophage. Good luck!

We have been tryng to get pregnant for a year now.  I was having problems with cysts so my dr. put me on Clomd.  I am on my first round of Clomid. I took it on days 5-9.  It is now day 19 and am SO nauseated.  Is this normal?  Just hoping for the best.

by soconfused24, Sep 03, 2007 12:54PM
I got pregnant on my 2nd round of Clomid.  I was very nauseous with both rounds and had sore boobs with both rounds.  The 2nd time my husband kept saying you must be pregnant, and even though I was, I kept blaming the symptoms on the Clomid because they were so similar to the symptoms I had the first round when I wasn't pregnant.  I know this is so frustrating, but I promise all the worry and trouble will pay off!  I wish you the best!

I am on my second round of clomid.  We have been trying for 13months.  I have the sore boobs and cramping around the time of ovulation. i haven't been diagnosed with anything.  I did have surgery to remove mild endometriosis.   I am no longer assuming that any symptoms are a sign of pregnancy.  This allows my mind to go to many places.  I will only belive it when I see a positive pregnancy test.

by lintay, Sep 22, 2007 10:42AM
We had our daughter 3 years ago with no problems,I got off the bc pill and I got pregnant right away.  Three years later we have been trying for some time now and I have not had a period for 6 months, very frustrating, you don't get a period so you think you may be pregnant.
My doc just put me on Metformin and novo medrone, I will start clomid 50mg of it on my 5th day of my period, have not had my period yet but I just started this entire process 3 days ago.  I am nervous and excited at the same time.  Twins run in my family so that is in the back of my mind as well.  It is comforting to read about other women and how successful the clomid has been for them.  Hope is works for us!

I got pregnant on my 3rd cycle of Clomid.
I ovulated all 3 months though because I did tests and my periods went from 40-70 days to exactly 28 straight away.

I am no nearly 35 weeks pregnant :-).

hi everyone! am so glad i've came across this forum site for women similar to my concerns.i am polycystic and have been trying for 8 months to get pregnant.my doctor put me to metformin to regularize my ovulation.i have irregular periods, the latest is 3mos.without having it.after taking metformin for a month, my period still is irregular and was delayed for 2 weeks.i went back to my dr.and she told me to start with clomid.one more thing is my husbands sperms turn out to be abnormal by its forms.out of 15 percent, he only have 5 percent of it normal.so both of us will have to work out to get me pregnant.most of the times,im just so depressed...

I have pcos and do not think that i got it until after my first pregnancy.  I now have a little boy who's 3.  We are now trying for the 2nd child and this is my first month on clomid.  I have been taking metformin for awile to get my periods regular.  Just to let everyone know that im a firm beliver in GOD!  Believe me if God sees your future having a child, there is not anyone that can change that!  I believe in miracles and healing!  Ive been sick for 3 years not only with pcos but auto immune disease and also have a layer in my bladder shedding.  Believe me, its been very challenging for me.  I finally put it in the Lord's hand and said its all your.  Have your way with me in your time not mine!  Im 2 days late right now, not sure if im pregnant, but if im not I know that God has his timing for me.  I believe if all of you would lay it down to him and let him have control, you might be surprised what he actually has in store for all of us.  I'll pray for all of you because i know children are such a precious thing.  Anyway God Bless and Good Luck!!!!  Remember Through his stripes WE ARE HEALED!!!!!

Amen sister!! I am totally with you on that! My husband and I have been ttc for 1 year after a m/c in June of 06. It was very depressing cosidering my 2 best friends had just had a baby, then another friend found out she was pg right after I had the m/c. It has been very hard, and my faith really gets tested at times, especially when it is neg test after neg test. My periods are irregular and I am on my 2nd cycle of Clomid. I am a week late which I am not depending on that, but I have had nausea, sore breasts, fatigue, and mild, barely noticeable cramps. My hopes are high and I go to the doctor tomorrow for a blood test b/c I have already taken 3 tests which all were BFN's...althought the last one was very very very faint, possibly evap lines, or my head imagining things. I have given into God's hands because I know it is only going to happen in His perfect timing. It has been hard because I know He gives me the desires of my heart, but all I can think is how can I want this so bad but it not be God's timing right now!? My 2 best friends are pg again and due in Feb and my sis-n-law is due in December. I know I am next and in the name of Jesus it is this month! I will def keep you in my prayers and you do the same for me...Where two or more agree on a thing, it shall be established! Also, my friend gave me this verse to believe on...Luke 1:45 Blessed is she who believes that what the Lord has told her will be accomplished....and Exodus 23:26 No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land...!!!!!!!!!!! Be Blessed!!

I am still having the symptoms though, but I have heard that sometimes Clomid can give you these symptoms...I have also heard of poeple not getting a positive blood test until 3 months pg...But I start Provera tomorrow to jump start my period since I am 2 weeks late then CD5-9 I will take my Clomid and we will go from there...well keep me posted and I will do the same for you!! Hello ladies,
I've never joined a forum before but this looks like a wonderful form of support. I have a 7 year old son conceived w/o clomid, but we've been trying ever since. I am now on my first cycle and and 6dpo. We did IUI and had the hcg injection. My doctor took into consideration that this isn't covered by insurance and wanted to try everything possible for sucess.
My question: How possible is it to get pregnant on the first cycle? Good luck to everyone here. Blessings to those who are pregnant.

Hello I am new to this website and was wondering if anyone could help me. I am 28yrs my husband and I have been ttc for many years, I had a HSG done and it was normal, he had a sperm anaylsis done and it was great, so my OBGYN sent me for a prog test on CD20 and it was really low, as a result he started me on clomid 50mg days 2-6, all was well we have been having intercourse regularly during the days I believed I might have been ovulating but not quite sure. But on CD22 (yesterday) i noticed some very light spotting and i felt wierd, today i feel better still breast are tender but no spotting. What could this mean?

It could be implantation bleeding if you are light spotting on day 22

I got pregnant on clomid and I didnt get imjplantation bleeding but some people do.

Don't get your hopes up just yet though and try and wait until at least day 29 to do a test - but good luck !!

I will be starting my four month of clomid 150mg in a few days. I also take 1500 of metformin. I ovulated well on 50 but did not concieve.  On 100mg my numbers where not as good as the previous month, I detected a surge but prog test did not show good numbers.  I am not sure if 150mg will do anything? I have a shaky diagnoses of P.C.O.S. and I am discouraged. We have been trying for 3 years and no one can seem to find anything wrong with me.  Is it worth doing the 150mg?

I am so happy I found this website!  My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 13 months - but it hasn't really been 13 times b/c my cycles have been as long as 51 days!  I just finished my first round of Clomid 50 mg, so now we're having our "sexy time".  I am so excited and optimistic that things will finally work out.  It seems like EVERYONE around me is getting pregnant - by accident! - and it's getting really hard to remain optimistic. Every test we've had done has come back fine, so my fingers are crossed really hard.  Congrats to everyone who's been successful!

Angel,

I just typed you this long message and I totally lost it before I posted it. I just wanted to tell you that where we are at in our process is almost exactly the same. My hubby has almost the exact same sperm problem as yours. I am on the Metformin for only two weeks right now. I have not been able to get it up to a high enough dosage to really help yet cause of side effects. I have PCOS (was diagnosed several years ago) and have been off of the pill for years, but really started "trying" in February. I am not patient enough to wait for the Met to work I don't think, but if it is going to work for you, you won't really know until you have been on it for 3-6 months from everything I have read about it. It can take that long to get your cycles regular. I here that using it with Clomid really helps the Clomid to work at a lower dosage. So I have a month or two wait to see if I will start it with Clomid or not. My doc doesn't really recommend waiting six months. She says I should start Clomid in a month or so.

With hubby having sperm issues, it may not work and we may move on to artificial insemination (IUI) after three months on Clomid. So expensive though. Seems so easy for many people to get pregnant too:)

I would like to keep in touch with you since we seem to be in a similar place.

Good luck!

Melinda

Hi. I wanted to say that I'm so glad that I stumbled upon this website! It's really good to hear other people's stories. My husband and I have been TTC for a little over two years. About a year ago I was diagnosed with PCOS and started Metformin. Now, we just finished our first round of Clomid. We're really hoping that this combo of meds work but we know that if it doesn't there are other options out there for us. We'll be praying for all of you who are TTC!

Best wishes!

My doctor seems to be doing things differently than what others are writing about.  I was sent for a blood test on day 21 to test my progesterone.  It came back at 6, which my doctor says is low and I shouldn't expect anything this month (it's now day 24).  If I am not preggo, she's going to keep me on 50 mg Clomid again next month and see what happens with the progesterone.  Has anyone else's doctor used this approach?  No-one is measuring my follicles, so I'm really confused!

by hopefulforbaby, Oct 27, 2007 04:18PM
To: optomisticpessimist
I went through 3 natural IUI cycles.  First cycle was unsuccessful, second cycle was successful but ended up with a miscarriage and for the third cycle, I didn't ovulate.  During my third cycle I have not ovulated by day 21 and the doctor had me tested for progesterone level on days 21 and 25.  My progesterone level was 6 (low).  On cycle day 25, my cycle was cancelled and  I was prescribed provera to induce my period.  I should note that my cycle days range from 28 days to as long as 46 days (very irregular).  On my next cycle, I went in for an ultrasound on day 4 to make sure there were no cycsts before taking 25 mg of Clomid.  I took 25 mg of Clomid on cycle days 4 to 8.  For my first cycle with Clomid and IUI, I ovulated but it was not successful.  However, I felt a little nauseous in the morning and had cramps every day after ovulation.  Now I'm on my second cycle of 25mg of Clomid and waiting for my ovulation to start.
Are you currently just waiting for your period to start?  It seems like your doctor has cancelled your cycle; thus, no point in measuring your follicles.  You should clarify with your doctor what is going on with the current cycle.  Are your cycles irregular?

Thanks so much for sharing your experience.  I went to the dr. today for my script for round #2 - this time, 100 mg.  I am on day 32 and have not started my period, but on day 29 I took a hpt just to double check and of course it was negative.  Dr. said if I don't get my period by Mon she'll do a progesterone bleed.  I, like you, have cycles ranging from 28 days to up to 51 days.  And I also felt nauseous and crampy, and the small circle of people who know what's going on were convinced, as was I, that I was preggo. Dr. thinks I don't ovulate at all, ever.  I have been crying all afternoon.  I am so pessimistic (hence the name) and was so excited last month - I def got my hopes up too high.  I try very hard not to feel sorry for myself, but I'm crazy like that!    I'm not a religious person, so I need something else to get me through the day.  Maybe yoga : )  Good luck to you, and to everyone.  It is SO good to know that I am not alone!

I know how it feels to have your hopes crushed.  You might want to ask your doctor about an hcg injection to help you ovulate in your next cycle (in case you don't ovulate on your own).  My doctor prescribed one to me in case I didn't ovulate but I was lucky enough to ovulate on my own in both cycles.

I was wondering for those of you who clomid has worked for - and this might sound silly - but I'm wondering what being pregnant felt like. Let me explain, I am about a week late which ins't that odd for me but I've been having all sorts of weird symptoms. Like my breasts are sore and pains in my abdomen. I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has gone through something similar to this?

Thanks for the advice!

I posted the question last month wanting to know whether clomid works on the first try. Well it did for me but unfortunately it ended up to be a chemical pregnancy.
Lindsay, I find that my pregnancy symptoms are pretty similar to premenstrual symptoms. When I was pregnant with my son I felt the sore breasts and cramping like I was going to start my period. The only indication I had was the missisng period.
With this clomid pregnancy, I had slight cramping and sore breasts as well. But I get that when I get my period. The fact that you're late may be an indication that you are pregnant........
Mama2kja, what does soy do?
Good luck

Month 2 of Clomid was a success!  I just found this morning that we're expecting!  Conception was probably on Thanksgiving day.  I have SO much to be thankful for!  I was in total denial of the positive test because I have bad cramps, but a blood test and HPT can't be wrong!
I just want to wish everyone the best.  It is a difficult road that we travel, but the payoff feels that much better.  God bless.

by MommieToTyler, Dec 11, 2007 01:56PM
I was suppose to start 12/9/07, and still nothing. I have PCOS and just took my 1st round of Clomid last month on days 5-9. I am tired, tingly boobs, lower back aches, and cramping. I have a HPT sitting at home but I just can't bring myself to take it, is it too soon? I have one son who is 5 and we have been ttc since he was 1. Can Clomid give you pregnancy symptoms close to your period, I guess I could always start within the next few days, I have never been regular to begin with. I was hoping Clomid would make me regular!

the Dr started me on nono medrone because my period was late by 2 months and I was not pregnant so he wanted to restart the cycle.  I took the entire 5 day supply, what i was wandering was how long after should i expect my period?  I have been feeling a little nauseated lately, and feedback would help thanks!

I am glad to find this site.  I went to the doctor today. Got the results back on my husband.  Everything is great on his end.  I have a girl-11 and a boy -6 from my previous marriage. My husband and I have been trying for two years.  My doctor put me on 50mg clomid.  I am suppose to have my period on the 8th of feb:  When i start my period; he said, for me to call.  I will have to make appointment to have blood work done to see when we should start having intercourse.  Cant wait to start the pills, i will start taking it on cycle day 5 for 5 days.  I have always wanted twin.
Best wishes to everyone

Hey, all!  I just had a question, and I was hoping someone had an answer that matched.  I took my second round of Clomid this month.  Around day 22 or 23, I had some very light spotting that I did not really think anything of.  It only lasted for a day and not even a whole day or anything.  My first round of Clomid made my cycle exactly 28 days.  I charted this month, and I am pretty sure I ovulated on or around day 19.  It is now day 30, and I am wondering when I should take a pregnancy test.  I don't feel nauseous or anything, but my breasts have been extremely sore for the past week and I have had very slight cramping for the past week as well.  I always hate testing because I am always afraid I will be disappointed.  How long do you guys think I should wait?

Hi

Well i got preggers on my first round of clomid this month but i had a m/c after 6 weeks.

I can tell you that before i knew i was preggers i had very very sore breasts and i was feeling morning sickness throughout the day!!  I"m sad about the m/c but happy that i found out i CAN get preggers.   We've been trying for two years!

I am sorry for your loss. I know it's tough to see that BFP then have it unravel. Most first pregnancies end in m/c. But there is hope that the next preg will keep! It happened to us. We m/c, had a D&C, then got preg two months later! We have a beautiful 17-month old boy. Then got preg March 07 and m/c. We've been trying for #2 since our m/c without luck. Now that I'm on clomid (first round -- CD3-7), I am praying that we are blessed to give our son a brother or sister. I'll be 39 this year and time is running out!!

Hi this is my second time on clomid the first lot i tried was 2 years ago and nothing happened so they took me of clomid and put me on metformin that didnt help so i had ovarian drilling done and stayed on the metformin and still nothing so now im on both, and if nothing happens in the next 3 months its back to the hospital again, its not easy i can tell you that much me and my husband have been together 8 years and it would be nice to have a baby or 2, 3 i really dont mind, it use to get me down not being able to have children and i use to get upset all the time but i have got over that not and i hope everyone else does, its not the end of the world if you dont have children, just make the most of the children you have in your family already!

I came across this site looking for people going thru the same situations as me.  I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and I am taking Metphormin and will have just finished my 1st round of clomid today.  I am on a 100mg dose of clomid and I see that most of you started off with a 50mg dose.  I have been having hot flashes, sleepiness and some cramping but besides that I feel ok.  I have a HSG scheduled today and Im a lil nervous but Im excited too.  I want to have a baby just like everyone else.  Well see how it all goes! best of luck to everyone! God Bless!

After reading through all of your posts i am now more hopeful. I have PCOS and was told when i was 13 that it would be unlikely that i will be able to have children naturally. Husband i have been trying for a year and i am on my first round of 50mg of Clomid. Took this from Day 3 for 5 days of menstruation. Since Day 16 i have been not feeling overly well. With stomach cramping that i cant pin down as to where they are located. Feeling Nauseas, Have been a bit depressed and not wanting to get out of bed. I have also been having hot flushes though i think that is what is happening. I also have headaches and feel dizzy. Are these just symptons of Clomid Therapy. I am due for my Day21 blood test tomorrow and was thinking about taking a hpt. Does Clomid effect the readings on a hpt? I really hope that we are actually pregnant. I can see in my morning temp tests that my temp has sky rocketed and was wondering what the temperature reading would be if you are pregnant?

Hi. I am new to this site and am very encouraged by all of your stories. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 13 months now without any pregnancies. Both my husband and I have been tested and we are both fine. Every month that I take an OPK, they come out positive. My doctor started me on Clomid last month, cd 5-9 and unfortunately didn't have any luck. I am now starting on my 2nd round, but am nervous that if it doesn't happen this month, that we will be sent to a fertility clinic. $$$ Has anyone had success on the Clomid shot?

i just finished my first round of clomid, and am on day 14. still no ovulation.   my doc said it should happen by day 18.  so i have four more days to wait.   i didn't have any side effects or anything from the clomid. except my vision was a little blurred for the first 2 days.  i just hope it will work for me.  it is so hard to wait.  i have been taking ov tests and my temp every morning. we have had sex everyday for the since my period just in case i miss the LH surge.  then if i dont ovulate, i am supposed to get my hormones checked. and possibly take extra hormones.   i hope i ovulate soon.
anyways, hope this gives you an idea of what some of us are going through. we should keep posting, if we both get pregnant this month, our babies will be due around the same time.  good luck to you.......and me....and all who are trying for babies.....

i am on day 21 now, still no ovulation.   i have always had very irregular periods. sometimes i wouldnt have one for 4-6 months.  i took my first round of clomid this month, and have finally been feeling like i might ovulate. i have cramps, more discharge than normal and lower back aches.   could i be ovulating soon? i took an ov test this mornig, and still neg. but should i stop testing, and wait for a period, or keep testing?  this is so frustrating!  anyone ovulate much later?

please help!

My husband and I have a 3 year old who we concieved with no problems whatsoever and had a completely healthy pregnancy.  However after my periods came back they've never really been "right" though - with really short cycles - anywhere from 18-24 days. We've now been ttc for about 13 months and had a miscarriage at 5 weeks in August 2007.  We waited a cycle and then started trying again - to no avail. I've had lots of tests done and everything was normal except my progesterone levels were low - indicating that I'm not ovulating.  I'm on my 1st round of clomid - took it days 3-7 and ovulated on day 11.  Today is day 16 so now we have to wait and see!!

To all of those ttc - I strongly recommend bbt charting!!  I've only been charting a couple cycles - charted last month (no ovulation) and then again this month (I ovulated yay!) - and the difference is very obvious!!  Its also very helpful to take along to my dr appts so he knows what is going on.  Good luck everybody!!  :)

Hi,  I'm back.  lol

today is day 28 of my second round of clomid, i gave in yesterday and took a pregnancy test but it came out a big fat negative.  I am upset but still keeping my fingers crossed.  Last time on my first round of clomid i tested on day 27 and got a negative but then tested 4 days later and got a positive, but i had a miscarriage at 6.5 weeks.  I'm hoping it worked again, but i have no symptoms like i did last time.  I had really sore breasts and was nauseous a week before my period was due.  But nothing this time so I'm not sure if it worked, but some people say you can have different symptoms, or no symptoms each pregnancy.

Well if anyone is out there write back.!!!  this forum seems to have slowed down a bit.

Hi everyone,
My precious husband and I have been ttc for two years. I miscarried in March 06 at 4-5 weeks. It is amazing how excited you can get, and then the harsh let down of a miscarriage. I am now starting Clomid 50 days 3-7. Yesterday was my first pill of Clomid. NO negative symptoms as of yet, and praying there will be nothing negative - only positive. I know how sad negative preg. tests can be, over and over and over.
Pray that God will bless us very soon, and you as well.
God Bless you Amanda!

Well today is day 29 and still no signs of my period.  I am waiting and am not going to take a pregnancy test anymore because i just know it will say negative.  lol

Does clomid change your cycle so its longer?  I'm usually a 28 day cycle so im thinking maybe clomid makes your cycles longer.  But I'm not sure since the last time i took clomid i got pregnant and didn't get my period until my m/c.

This waiting game really really really sucks.  I WANT TO KNOW NOW!!

Thanks!!!

Hi!  I just wanted to let you know I'm going through the same thing.  I started my first round of clomid in march, 50 mg days 5-9, and today is cycle day 30 (my cycles are like clockwork 25 to 28 days) with with no period.  On day 21, I had a progesterone test run, results were 70!  My doctor was so excited, so I have my hopes up even more now.  My boobs hurt, I have had cramps for a week that come and go but nothing like my pre-menstral cramps, and I have a low-grade fever.  I took a pregnancy test yesterday (day 29) but it was also a big fat negative.  Like you, I absolutely refuse to take another one.  You're in my thoughts, and I really hope your pregnant!!

Hi,

Today I got my period, well just spotting but I'm sure its my period.  I'm so upset and disappointed.  I have one more set of pills for this month but I'm not even sure if i can take them because my husband might be away for work when we'd need to TTC.  So yeah I'm devastated.  It means that if i do ever get pregnant its going to be a 2009 baby now.  lol  i shouldn't even be worried about that, i just think of everything.  My mom just called a while ago all excited because my brothers little girl just learned to walk.  I guess i'm just frustrated.

I got pregnant on my first round of clomid but had a m/c.  I really hope you get pregnant on your first round!!! I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you!!!  Good luck!!

Yes, of course, I didn't have any side effects from it, so definitely going to try again.  My doctor's keeping me on the same 50mg dosage though.  He said he didn't see any reason to increase it with my 21 day progesterone being so high, he knew I had ovulated.  So I really can't understand why I didn't get pregnant.  I will start taking it again on day 5 which is Sunday 4/13.  I'll keep you posted this time around, and you do the same....GOOD LUCK!!!

Hello everyone!! I found this website today, and it's nice to know that I'm not the only one having problems with this (not that I would wish this on anyone...). Well, let's start from the begining it may be long but please bare with me.
About 6 years ago I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis. I am now 22. Have had a total of 4 laparoscopies now... last one showed mild endo. We have been trying to get p/g with our 2nd child for about a year now. I have been taking Clomid since October maybe? First the 25mg. now I have been on 50mg for about 3 months I believe. With this last ovulation I was given 2 shots of hCG. That was two weeks ago tomorrow. Well, I didn't want to wait until Monday (go figure) for my blood test (due to increase in headaches, evening/night nausea like wihen I was prego w/my son) so I took a HPT this morning and it was positive. So this afternoon I wanted to be sure so I took another and it was negative. They were both the clearblue easy digital tests. So I don't know if it tested + because of leftover hCG shot still in my system or if I really am expecting.... Has this happened to anyone else? What were your true outcomes?
Any advice would be appreciated!!! Thanks!

After 6 months of ttc, my husband and I finally conceived early in September 07.  Everything appeared to be fine with the pregnancy, and fetal heartbeat was strong.  At about 11 weeks, I began to bleed, without sign of cramping, much less anything else.  Ultrasound confimed a few hours later, no fetal heartbeat.  I underwent a D&E.  We were very distraught, of course, after all our hopes and dreams were crushed.

I have 2 children from a previous marriage, ages 11 & 8.  I've now had 4 miscarriages total.  I've been on prenantal vitamins and 81mg of baby asprin for about a year now.

We've become so frustrated over the past several months, unable to conceive again since our loss.  After our loss, my husband and I agreed to make one last attempt to conceive.  This past month, my OB put me on 50mg of Clomid, my first cycle.

Twins would be perfect, and though they do run in the family, none of them ever survived.  At least, I'm hoping for one...hopeful for a girl, as I already have 2 boys, but moreso worried to have her/him healthy and to term.

The two children I have already, have significant medical problems.  My husband has a heart defect.  Though we have both been through the gammet of fertility testing, and the baby had genetic testing which revealed nothing, we still have not been able to conceive again.

Please pray for us.  We've asked for protection and guidance from St. Gerard, Patron Saint of Motherhood, to help aid us in a successful and healthy pregnancy.

I'm currently at CD18, and scheduled for blood work to check progesterone levels on CD21, with a hcg blood test to follow at CD30.

We are losing hope.  Faith seems to be the only thing carrying me through at this time.  Pray for us.

Thanks so much!

wow this site has been a blessing!! i, like everyone else here, am having problems conceiving a baby. my husband and i have been trying for 14 months now. in that time i have had a miscarriage at 6 weeks. which was REALLY hard for me. my doctor just started me on clomid and i am in my first month. i really hope this is it because i cant afford all the copays and prescriptions theyre piling on me. my problem is that one of my tubes has scar tissue and the ovary attached to it is enlarged. also, my husband's sperm's activeness is only okay. but its on the lower spectrum.  it is so hard every month to hope and hope and hope you are pregnant...then to find out you arent. over and over and over again. everyone around me gets pregnant on there first or second month. but one thing God is instilling in me is patience. i know that He will bless me with a child when it is His time, not mine.

Wow, it was really reassuring to read all of your personal stories!  My husband and I have been TTC for over a year.  I just started my first cycle of clomed.  I am so nervous.  My doctor said we'd try this for three months.  If I don't get pregnant she'll refer me to an infertility specialist.  I hate all of this waiting!  I know that when I get pregnant it will have all been worth it.  But it's driving me nuts now!!

To those of you who are pregnant, congrats.

I just started my first round of clomid and metformin.  I was diagnosed with PCOS.  My husband and I are hoping for twins.  I have twin brothers, my dad is a twin with a girl and his father is a twin as well.

I took my first clomid today and realy hoping for good news.  I am scheduled to do a develloped follicle scan on day 12 and prgesteron on day 20.

Keep you posted.  My only side effect with metformin is excess hunger and loose stool.  Guess I'll see how it works with clomid.

Did anyone have her baby as yet?

Ok.  Ihad to stay home from work today because of diarrhea and cramping from the clomid.  It was really horrible.

Did any of you experience any of side efects for the flull course of clomid???

I didn't have any trouble with diarrhea, but did have cramping about the time of ovulation.  I have had one cycle of clomid 50 mg, and starting my second cycle this week.  The symptoms I had were blurred vision/dry eyes, nausea, sore breasts, and frequent hot flashes for about 15 days or 1/2 my cycle, after taking the clomid.

Hoping your symptoms ease up for you.  Everyone is affected differently by medications.  Just know that it isn't forever, and look toward the final outcome!  Hang in there...as most of us ttc are!  Best of luck to you!

I have read everyones story on TTC. I wish everyone the best of luck!!
My husband and I had been trying for so long and then realized I had a hypothyroid which makes it almost impossible to conceive so finally my dr put me on clomid in February. The very first cycle I took, we conceived (which is rare).
My period was late but I kept getting what felt like menstrual cramps and lower back aches so I just kept thinking that I would get my period any day. I actually forgot that I had missed my period until one day I was 6 weeks over due and took a test. I pray that my pregnacy goes well and I fear that something will go wrong since we have wanted this so bad!

So....i'm not telling you my story to make anyone feel bad. Its just to let you know that sometimes it feels like you're never going to pregnant but know that there is hope and I too have been in your shoes. I have cried myself sleep everytime I got my period and of course cried everytime I saw that negative test.

I too experienced blurred vision but after a few weeks it went away.

I do wear contact lenses.  I find myself carrying around a bottle of saline solution, rewetting and cleaning my contacts more often.

Try to keep positive.  My CD21 revealed that my progesterone level was 28.3, which shows solid ovulation.  But no luck this past month.  Starting my second cycle of just clomid, 50mg again, this Friday (days 5-9), and seeing my OB Friday as well.

Keep me posted and hang in there!  I'm wishing much luck and success for all.  I certainly can't handle another loss after 4 already.  Hoping for some severely sticky baby dust...perhaps twins!

My doctors told me to have sex CD12-20, at least once a day.  My husband's motility is normal, as is his sperm count.  I'm wondering if the problem might not be with the quality of the eggs that I'm producing.  I am almost 35 years old.  They can't seem to find any reason, else wise, why we are having difficulty conceiving.  As I stated before, I never had trouble conceiving before, but sustaining the pregnancies past 12 weeks has been difficult for me, with now 4 miscarriages under my belt, the first at 12 weeks, second at 6 weeks, third around 7 weeks, and last just past 11 weeks.  The last being the most heart wrenching, as it is with my new husband, he not having any children, and wanting it so badly.  November feels like yesterday, and time never seems to lessen the pain.

In the event that all attempts are unsuccessful, and Clomid and injections do not work, I have heard of a place in New Jersey, that does embryonic transfers, from former IVF egg donors, at a place called RMA NJ.  We may consider that as an alternative, instead of going the route of IVF itself, as it is far less expensive, and the donor eggs are being donated, and included in the price of the procedure, which is less than IVF therapy through a fertility clinic, or the finances, wait and hold up of the procedures of adoption.

There is just something missing in my life.  I'm hopeful to add another one or two to my family.  Unfortunately, after losing the last pregnancy, my husband only gives us one more opportunity to conceive and carry a child, before he gives up.  Neither one of us can handle another loss.  I'm hopeful for twins in one shot, and that would satisfy me.  But know as well, that we risk losing both, and would have 2 x more the pain and uneasyness of having to cope with that again.

I look to God daily, but he provides me with no clear understanding.  It seems that God's timing and mine, do not coincide.  I struggle some days to stay positive, and keep my hopes high each month, only to find AF rearing her ugly head at the end of each month.

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed this month, and hoping for much baby dust to come my way!  As to you!

Keep me posted as to how things work out for you.  I'll do the same.

I have had 2 miscarriages. 1 at 6 weeks and the other at 10 weeks I have no children and I am 33 years of age.  My husband is 34 and we're both looking forward to being parents.  I do feel likemy clock is ticking, but I manage to keep optimistic.  My husband is the pessimist.  He did another semen analysis and everything is good, motility and all.

I will keep you posted.

Don't lose hope.  At least you can get pregnant.  The challenge is keeping it.  That is what worries me most.  Have you done any antibody testing?

by wanting2bamomagain, May 06, 2008 03:50AM
To: Bluebell365
They did some antibody testing, and the results came back out of range, just a little above the normal values, one week prior to losing the pregnancy at 11 weeks.  Nothing has ever been said about the results since, but I did question them.  I am told that I have a blood clotting disorder, which was revealed in the screenings when I was last pregnant.  They have me on 81mg asprin, and also discussed putting me on heprin.  Of course, again, we lost the baby before anything was done.

This time around, I am still on prenatal vitamins (over 1 year now), taking 81mg asprin, and 50mg clomid (days 5-9).  Today is CD9, so the last pill of cycle 2 is taken today.

My husband and I have made it more of a job, trying to conceive...not that it is a job....but rather than spending lots of money on OPK's and checking ovulation throughout the month, we have sex every day, from days 5 to the end of my cycle.  Though I do enjoy sexual contact with my husband, it would be nice to have it on a more intimate level, rather than doing it, just to achieve the outcome we desire.

I'm hoping I can get off this roller coaster ride soon, and just fall pregnant!

I spend my days at home doing home improvements (we moved into another house last August), as my husband has not allowed me to hold a job, other than running his trucking company.  The outcome of this decision is to eliminate stress on me, and allow us to become pregnant, while working just a few short hours a day.  I have been informed that my cervix will likely be required to be sewn shut, in the event that we fall pregnant, and may be on bedrest for the duration of the 9 months. Due to this, we have agreed that it would not be beneficial for me to work, and in December of 2007, after losing the baby, I closed my Notary and Real Estate business, which I was self-employed at.

Pray for us...I'll pray for you.  Let our time be soon!

What does a miscarriage feel like. After my initial does of Clomid i found that i was nauseas after ovilation around the time my next cycle was starting , i had weird stabbing pains, and was really dizzy. I was in bed for 3 days feeling really really horrible. A friend said to me that it sounded like i might have miscarried so now i am wondering what if?
I am on my 3rd month of clomid at the moment and am really annoyed after reading your posts with my gyn and dr. I have been for one blood test the whole time. Which proved that i ovulated the first month but since then i have had nothing. My drs dont seem to care and are fobbing it off to one and another.
I have also noticed changes in my cycle since starting the CLomid. I find that now i do not have much cervical mucus as what i did prior to taking the Clomid and that i now only have my period for 1 day of my 33 day cycle. When i say 1 day it is 1 day of heavy period and 7 days of spotting. So annoying. My cycle has never been so light.
Should i be taking other medications than just the Clomid? Should i be having more frequent scans and tests? I have never had anything other than the day 21 blood test and thats it.
So confused and really needing help from you all.

With each of my four miscarriages, I had cramping, which then became pretty severe.  I never had nausea, and the symptoms of cramping and severe abdominal pain came on pretty quickly.  I experienced a lot of clotting, though 3 of the 4 were between 7-11 weeks.  I only had one at 6 weeks, and cannot recall just how intense the bleeding and clotting were, as it was about 9 years ago.  I do recall feeling pretty bad, and continual cramping and abdominal pain for several days afterwards.

With regard to your periods...I am on my second cycle of clomid (50mg).  Last month I spotted for 2 days, and had normal bleeding only for 1 day.

Each individual has different side effects from clomid.  I will admit, it's not for everyone.  And your periods can vary from cycle to cycle being on clomid, i.e. the number of days, and the flow.

I am on no other medications besides clomid.  Only the doctor can determine if you require anything else.  My first cycle, I only had a 21 day blood test, and a 30 day beta HCG which was negative.  I got my period the day following, on day 31.

This second cycle of clomid, they are not doing the 21 day ovulation check, as my levels were 28.3, which shows that ovulation occurred.  Anything over 15 is good, as I am told.

Hang in there.  I'll keep you, as well as everyone else here, in my thoughts and prayers, in trying to conceive.

I hope this information has been helpful to you.  In the event you need more advice, seek answers from your OB/GYN, as they can further provide you with the answers you desire.

Best of luck to you!

A miscarriage is painful mostly in the middle of your lower abdomen.  I have had 2, the first one was very  painful.  I bled for a week and then the foetus fell out and the other one I had no pain, but found out when I went for my second ultra sound.  It had died and I had to do  D&C.  It is probably just the effect of the clomid why you are feeling that way.  If you are not happy with you OBGYN, you should switch.  That's what I did and was then diagnosed with PCOS.  I am currently taking clomid and metformin.

Ok.

My anti-bodies test came back and one was positive.  I am told by my OBGYN that if Iget pregnant , I will have to take steriods pills and a shot of hyperin to suppress the anti-body for the first three months.  I have to start taking baby asprin right away and continue when I get pregnant.  During pregnancy I'll have to continue with the metformin.  I think that's alot to swallow.  Has anyone gone throughthat before?  I know you "wanting2bamomagain"had said that this was discussed during one of your pregnancies.

I did my 12 day scan yesterday and don't quite yet understand if I have developed follicles or not.  The Radiologist did discover a cyst on my left ovary.

Still praying for some reprieve.

Yes, this last pregnancy, they informed me that they were considering heparin.  I have and still am taking baby asprin, 81mg, now since last september, when I found out I was pregnant the last time, before our loss.  My antibody levels were borderline at the time.  We lost the baby just about the time they were going to start me on heparin, so I don't know what future course of action will be.

I'm at CD13, and trying to tie hubby down long enough to make a go at it.  He works 15 hours a day during week, and about 8 hours on Saturday.  I'm certainly hoping for a little time myself!  Besides, it's Mother's Day!  I'm in my window of opportunity, and he'll just have to make time...especially if he wants another child.

Keep me updated.

I still don't know what my 12 day scan revealed.  It seemed that the Radiologist didn't do a proper scan so my consulting doctor who lives in another Island (Barbados), has said that if I am not pregnant this round I'll have to come to Barbados to do my scan there.

Right now I am experiencing the sore breast and pelvic pain.  I's now day 19, so may be ovulation.

Sorry to hear that things haven't gone your way.  If it's any consulation to you, I never had a 12 day scan, only a 21 day progesterone level check.

As for the pains, Clomid seems to heighten the effect of ovulation.  I experienced the same thing, and knew that I was ovulating this past Monday at CD15.  I'm on CD18 today, so I'm just a day behind you, cycle wise.  Cycle buddies!

Hopefully you won't have to travel to Barbados.  Seems it's a little out of the way.

Keep me posted while in your 2 week wait!  I'll let you know the end results come CD34...that's when I'll be getting my beta HCG, should AF hold off!  Pleassssseeee!  Pleassssseeee!

Much baby dust to you!

Well I really interested in the scan because my doctor believes that the eggs are just not maturing which is characteristic of PCOS and that's what I got.

HOw long are your cycles?  Mine is on average 30 days.  I really don't think I did it this round.  I have a sore throat and upper respiratory ract infection right now.  The metformin makes me very ill and I have not been feeling very sexy at all.

Anyway, let's keep it positve and send positve energy.  Good luck to you too.

My cycle on Clomid was 31 days.  I'm told to wait atleast 34 to test beta HCG, if AF doesn't show.  Right now, I'm currently not being monitored, as my OB is on maternity leave herself.  She left me with 3 scripts to get beta HCG's done in her absence, as well as remaining on Clomid until August.  In the event we are unsuccessful, the August appt. is to refer me to a fertility specialist in the area.  We've already had all the fertility workups dones, as well as chromosone testing, semen analysis, ultrasounds, etc.  The future game plan, involving the fertility specialist, is to start injectables.

I have found a site forum which has been great, on babyfit.  Follow my link below, to check it out.  It has some really great discussion boards there, and you can find many to talk to, vent to, what not.  Hope to see you there!  And should you decide to join (it's free), add me as a friend!

My husband and I have one son who will be 13yo in a few months.  We had him in 1995, got pregnate again in Sept. 1997, had a miscarriage in Dec. 1997 was diagnosed at that time with PCOS or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnate again every since with no luck. We went through 9 months straight of Clomid Cycles back in 2005 with no luck conceiving however I did ovulate on the Clomid. That was so disapointing! I a now on my 2nd cycle of Clomid again and hoping for my miricale. I will keep you updated.

I'm still in my 2 ww.  I'm at CD27 of my 2nd cycle.  Last month my cycle ended on CD31.  I'm told to wait until CD34 to get beta HCG done, in the event AF doesn't arrive by then.  I'm sorry you've been disappointed for yet another month.  It sucks!  I know exacly how you feel.  I'm hoping our chain of disappointments will end soon.  But I know that I'm stuck with 50mg of Clomid until August, when my OB returns from maternity leave, to be referred on to a reproductive endocrinologist & fertility specialist.  I'm seriously hoping to fall pregnant soon, because I don't think my eyes can handle much more of these fertility drugs.  Seems to be the most serious side effect I have with Clomid.  My eyes get really dry with my contacts, and have cloudy vision.  Not to mention, that I've gained a few pounds as well, which I can't afford, as I've gained a total of 25 lbs now since I lost our baby in November, 07.  Even with regular diet and exercise!  I just don't understand.  And with every pound I gain over my ideal weight, it becomes harder and harder to become pregnant.  I now sit 25 lbs. overweight, and was at my ideal weight in August 07, when I conceived.  It's very frustrating!

by Bluebell365, May 25, 2008 03:33PM
To: wanting2bamomagain
Yes, it was frustrating because it came very early and my boobs are still hurting.  I haven't had the poor tolerance to contact lens side effect (yet) and what is worse my best friend is pregnant with her second child.

I am stuck with it until September.  don't know what the plan is if it doesn't work.  I am the opposite.  I am losing weight because the metformin makes me loose my appetite.  My OBGYN has now put me back on 1 a day instead of 2, so I'm eating more heartily now.  I actually gained 1.5lbs within the last week. I'm now 113.5lbs. and I'm told I'm underweight still.

OK.  Let's be positive.  I think I'll break out the freaky stuff this round.

Had a CD30 Beta HCG test yesterday.  The results were faxed to me by the lab this morning around 5:15 am.  HCG levels are 564, higher than normal for 4 weeks, 2 days.  We are pregnant!  2nd cycle of clomid!  It really does work!  Let's just hope and pray that this one sticks...please, please, please!  If not, we're done trying.  I'm trying to keep positive, but already I have doubts, until I make it to about 36 weeks when they anticipate on doing C-Section.  Calling my OB's office today to schedule a 6 week u/s, 8 weeks OB visit, and discuss administering heparin, as I have the Factor V Mutation.

Keep me posted as to your status.  I know your time is coming soon!  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  Keep me in yours as well.

WOW! CONGRATULATIONS.  I feel so much Joy.  You give me hope.  Honestly!

I got a call from my care providers in B'dos today and they are concerned that the 50mg clomid is not working so they'll be putting me on 100mg if I don't get pregnant this round.

I wish you and hubby all the best of luck with keping this one.  Go at it aggressively even if it means taking heparin.

Thank you.  I'm hoping that by increasing your dosage, that you will be successful in conceiving as well.

I will do what I can, in the meantime, to secure the pregnancy.  Since my levels were high, I'm hoping that it would be more likely that we are having multiples, than a molar pregnancy, or baby with down syndrome.  Definintely keeping my fingers crossed.  Unfortunately, my husband doesn't want to know anything or even talk of the pregnancy, until after I reach 12 weeks, as it was rather devastating when we lost our last one at 11 1/2 weeks in November, 07.  I do, however, understand, and respect his wishes.  He doesn't want to be disappointed again.

Please, if you have time, set up an account on BabyFit.  There are forums there for those TTC.  I would love to add you as a friend, and continue keeping in touch.

Hi All,

Just wondering what all of your ages are. This is not so that people can criticise each other about whether they should or shouldnt be trying to conceive.

I am 23 years old. And have been on Clomid for 4 cycles of 50mg. We had been trying for a year before i went onto Clomid. Got my 21st day blood test back last week my level was 18. Sooo Low. Not Ovulating and going back to the Gyn this week.

Anyway, Just interested in ages and how long trying before Clomid and how many cycles and level of Clomid people are on.

JAYMJ.

Hi there, I am 29 and I will be starting my third round of Clomid (1 &2 were 50mg and 3 will be 100mg). I have a question for the ladies that say that they did not ovulate on clomid (so far) did you have a period anyway?

Yes when i dont ovulate i still get my periods. I have noticed that when i dont ovulate the pain after ovulation day is not as bad as when i do. I get nausea, dizzyness and feel like i have a flu coming on everytime i do actually ovulate.

Went to my gyn this week. He advises me that 18 is still ovulating but on a very low end of the ovulation scale. He has left it up to me to decide whether i want to increase my Clomid dosage to 100mg instead of 50mg. Has warned me that the possibility of twins is higher.
Never wanted twins as my siblings are twins as are my husbands siblings. Both husband and mines response is twins is better than nothing. Hopefully we can still have 1 but seeming genetically twins was always a possibility who cares. Just wanna feel and have something.

I everyone, I thought I would share a ray of hope for everyone on here,
My husband and I have ttc for 5 long years with no luck, finally in April I went to the ob/gyn that my regular doctor finally refered me to, he did his testing and decided I needed 50mg clomid, so I took it days 5-9 like he said, we handled our business, and found out on June 27 we are pregnant, we are at 6 weeks, I am still really nervous that something could go wrong, but also very happy its a weird emotion. But for those of you have didn't conceive on first cycle of clomid don't give up, because it is not usual to conceive on first cycle god just decided it was finally our time and your time will come.

I am new to the board, found it by doing a google search.  Let me start out by saying congrats to all the mommies, soon to be mommies and mommies soon to be by God's grace :-)

I am a 31 year old, married to my wonderful husband for 1 year now and we've been trying to conceive for over a year with no luck.  My cycle has never been normal, so I never know when or if I'm ovulating.  Hubby's semen analysis (took 2 and 2nd came back with higher numbers) was returned with minor issues, but urologist stated that we should be ok conceiving.  I recently had a hysteroscopy as there was scar tissue found in my uterus.  I will be seeing my doctor in 2 weeks to get started on provera to regulate my cycle, then the Clomid to superovulate me in hopes of pregnancy.  Your stories definetely inspire me and I know that God will definetely bless us with a child.  Please keep us in your prayers and I will keep you all posted on my progress.

Peace & Blessings

Blood tests are normal for the day 21. I had cramps and hot flushes the first time that i was on the clomid. But since then i havent experienced anymore. My tests have all been coming back low but the first test did indicate that i  ovulated. I also have PCOS.

I am on my 2nd dosage starting tomorrow of 100mg of Clomid. I got my test results back yesterday for my first month of 100mg and it came back as 23. Which is weird because my previous month on 50mg was 18. Which is basically not ovulating. So obviously it doesnt matter how much clomid i take it is not helping. Going back to Gyn this week to discuss this further and to work out why i have additional pains. Someone suggested that i might have a prolapsed uterus to top it all off. Hopefully not the case.

To help fall pregnant as well i am going to an Osteopath every 2 weeks to help readjust my pelvis which is tilted and slightly rotated. Which wouldnt be helping us fall pregnant.

What other therapies are people trying other than Clomid. Any success with the additional therapies as well???

My sister-in-law is due in a couple of weeks and i am so excited for her. Such a miracle for anyone to be able to have a baby. Just waiting on our miracle. Good Luck everyone and i hope your miracle happens soon.

Has anyone else experienced severe depression with clomid? I had mild hot flashes, mood swings, nausea and dizziness on 50mg, but now I'm on 100mg and crying constantly. My gyn is out of town, and won't be back until Friday. The pharmacist was of no help.

Hi All,
Went to the gyn yesterday to get my results of my latest 21day test and see what the next steps were. My result on the 100mg of clomid was only 23 but my cycle swapped from being 33 days on 50mg to 28 days and we did the ovulation test later due to my cycle previously being long. So he thinks that we might have missed when i actually ovulated.
My gyn does an ultrasound everytime i go in to see him to see how my ovaries are. I have 2 cysts on my ovaries. I have PCOS but i have never actually seen the cysts on there. One is 6cm in diameter and the other is 3cm. I have no choice but to wait until they burst and have to go off clomid. Apparentely taking the double dose of clomid overstimulated my ovaries. He gives me an ultrasound monthly. So having something grow in you so fast is really scary.
He did say that some couples will fall pregnant after coming off clomid. So heres hoping that we are one of those couples.

Thank you sooo much for sharing your thoughts and experiences.  I too, like many of you, was recently diagnosed w/PCOD.  I am so ready to have a child, and am very hopeful that Clomid will work.  I am on my first round of Clomid, and currently on day 26.  I am very anxious to find out my results, but also very scarred.  Is it too early to test?
I haven't mentioned my treatment plan to my friends and family, as I don't want to feel pressured or dissappointed.  I am grateful for this forum, and helpful information.  I wish you all the best, and trust that GOD will bless us w/a baby soon.
I'm glad to know I'm not alone, GOD bless you all!

Hello,

I"m now just over 24 weeks pregnant, we found out we are having a boy.  I took clomid for 3 months, the first month i had a miscarriage at 8 weeks and the second month it didnt work.  But the 3rd try was/is a success so far, so keep trying.  I had a 29 day cycle and had been ttc for over a year, i even had surgery to remove a small septum from my uterus and i still didnt get pregnant!  So i do believe that Clomid works.  I'm 29 now and looking forward to meeting my son in January!

I am 23 years old and I have a 7 year old daughter by my previous marriage that was natural and was a surprise. I had her at a very early age, only 15. After I had her i was so scared I would end up pregnant again so I started on the Depo shot for 1 year. I was on it again when I was 19 for 1 year. My last shot was feburary 2005. Now I am re-married to the most wonderful understanding man. He also has a 6 year old son. We have been ttc for 2 1/2 years with no sucess. My periods have been very irregular. I would go 3-4 months without having a period. My doctor has put me on 50mg of clomid and I am now on day 12 of my cycle. I was also perscribed pervera to help me start my period. I woke up this morning and checked my LH surge and was positive. I researched and found out that I am not supposed to check first morning urine. I tested again later in the day and it was negative. Has anyone been on the depo shot and used clomed with sucess? how many months did it take for clomid to work?

I also was on the depo shot, it took along time to get my cycles right after going off the shot. My husband and I ttc for 5 years with no luck. I started taking clomid in may and took days 5-9 of my cycle. I got pregnant on my first round and am now 19 weeks pregnant. My cousin had to take provera to regulate her cycle and just using that got pregnant and she is due 4 days before me.

Good Luck to you. I hope all works out.

Hi, All
I've been married for 4 years and have been trying for about 3 years. I'm on my first round of clomid and I'm now 5 days late. I always have a 28 day cycle. Can clomid mess your cycle up. The first day late was day 29 and I took the HPT and it was negative. Could I still be pregnant? Breast hurt and cramps. I'm scared to take another one.My doctor did a progesterone test on day 22 and it was only a 4. He said that I need to be at a 10 but 3 is low. The doctor suggest I wait a full 7 days to test again.
I feel like a test rat at this time I have had every test you can think of even as far as exploratory surgery and nothing found. This is the first time that I had a 4 on progesterone. My husband has had a few test and they have found nothing wrong.
Baby dust to all.

I also am 7 days late, i did an urine pregnancy test and it was negative. As i was going to my GP anyway i decided to mention it to her. She did another pregnancy test on me which was also negative and then decided to send me to get a blood test to check whether i was pregnant. My te st came back negative. So disheartening to finally not have my periods turn up and then get negative results. My GP said to me that urine tests are not always accurate as it relies on your body ovulating at the right time. I would suggest getting a blood test to see whether you are or arent pregnant.
My mum said to me that her urine tests always came back negative but her blood tests came back positive. Perhaps give that a go...

Good luck hopefully you are the same case as my mum.

I im on first round of chlomid. Have been sleeping a whole lot!, Im not the type to take naps at all. But lately ive had to. I have been very emotional. My boobs hurt a little bit and i feel dry eyes. Hot flashes were my first sign while i was on clomid from day 3-5. I went to get my blood test done on the 21st day which that was on friday. Will get an answer on it tomorrow. They will let me know wether i ovulated or not. I did take a test the day before the blood test because i was very anxios and it was  A BIG FAT NEGATIVE!!. When should i test again??

by kskewlgal, Oct 06, 2008 02:45PM
To: HurryUpAndWait
When I took clomid it was at 50mg. My doctor told me that usually you ovulate between days 12 and 19 and to have intercourse every other day during that period. The hardest part is all the waiting, and testing. I had to get a three days test and then a 21 day test. My cycles were 35 days but on Clomid it changed to 28 days. I was so used to my tests coming out negative that I waited until day 36 to take a test which by then I was 8 days late.

To everyone else wondering about when to take their tests, wait until your at least a day late, the earlier that you take them the less accurate they are and always follow up with a blood test. Because the blood usually doesn't lie. It is the most accurate of them all.

No luck. I just got AF and so I start my second round. My OB up me to 100mg of clomid and started me on 500mg of Glucophage to get my progesterone up. I hope this works. Are you now on your second round as well?

Yeah Becca i am past my second. Unfortunately i cant go on 100mg as the last time i did i got cysts. My periods never came this month and my blood test was negative as well. Gyn wants me to wait and see what happens in terms of my periods turning up. Just wish that he would hurry up and have a look at my tubes which he said was the next step.

Does anyone else ever get people saying "Its obviously not the right time for you. Your right time will come soon"...

Hi everybody!!! My doctor called me on monday and told me my progesterone levels came back and he said they were great. He told me i ovulated and he said the magic words "u might be pregnant now" but i dont want u to test for it until u miss your period. Well as soon as i got home from work i tested and it was negative and dissapointing by it was only day 24 so it was probably wayyyyy to early. I would like to know if its normal to have cramps in the lower abdominal area. I have some of those but they r not strong they come and go and they feel like a little bitty pinch. Im thinking ill get my period but ive always been late not early. My period is the 13th of this month.
Anyway...ill keep u posted......WE ALL HAVE TO BE PREGNANT BY CHRISTMAS AT LEAST...I DEMAND!! haha jk

My husband & I have been married for nearly 4 years and I have had an all out battle about having a child, he has 2 and didn't want anymore, but being around them made me want one.  So, he gave in and we are trying.  I am on round 2 of Clomid 50mg.  I know when I ovulated this last month, the pain in my ovaries and cervix wouldn't let me forget.  I am due for my 28 days tomorrow and I have sore breasts and I am sooo tired and I am constipated, but the test yesterday said "not pregnant."  It is really hard for me to wait and see, I have been waiting so many years to have him tell me we could and now it seems like we are in slow motion.  I made an apt. with the OB tomorrow, so I guess that we will see what happens.

Hey girl, I'm with you and also so tired of hearing it. I've become a little snappy when people tell me that if you stop thinking about it, it will happen. I know that they're trying to be nice but it gets old.
One of the first things my doctor did was check my tubes. It's such a quick procedure. I just had a little cramping after words. He said that they looked good and that if anything was blocking them that it was flushed out. How did you know that you had cyst? I'm so worried about this because I had so much cramping two weeks before AF.

Well I started my second round today of the 100mg of clomid. I hope I don't have the cramping and tender breast this go around. I pray that the Glucophage gets my progesterone levels up.

I had the same cramps that are in the lower abdominal area that come and go. I think it's the clomid. At least thats what I've been told. The sore breast is also a side effective. I don't know about everyone else but it seems that being on clomid I never really feel good. I don't feel like doing anything which is just not me.

I haven't visited this site in a while.  I continued my fertility journey straight to IUI which was performed on Saturday last. We were told to do an HPT on the 25th October.  The wait is agonizing already.  I was put on 150 mg of clomid this round as I had become clomid resistant and had to take provera to bring on my period.  We're really hoping this works although the first round of IUI generally doesn't work  I had two large follicles on my left ovary and if both eggs are released could have twins. something I have been wishing for.  My right ovary was polycystic.  I was about to get an HCg shot, but fortunately I had two dominant follcles on day 12 and the IUI was performed on day 13.

Wish me luck and much baby dust to you all.

Hi ladies,
I am soo happy that i found this forum. All the happy ending stories give me hope. All those ladies that are still trying (like me), make me feel that I am not alone. My husband and I have been ttc already one year. I have PCOS and I started yesterday with provera since I didnt get my period already for 3 months. When I get my period, I will start with Clomid 50mg from day 3 to 7. Do you know why some women get it from day 5-9? Does it make any difference?.

Another questions, when am I supposed to be ovulating after taking Clomid? During ovulation, is good to have sex everyday?

As you can see, I am full of questions and doubts.

Thank you all in advance for your help and I wish you all good luck!

Welcome.  You should ovulate beteem days 10 and 14 of your cycle.  Most likely your doc will do a 12 day scan to see how your  ovaries are responding to clomid.  They generally recommend sex every other day on days 10, 12,14,16 etc.

Good Luck.

My hubby and I have been trying to get pg for over a year. we started Clomid a few months ago and got pg right off the bat. Prob was I had a period and then tested NEG for pg.  Then I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks. Prob the hardest thing I have ever experienced. Whatever. Anyway I have finished my first round of clomid since the miscarriage and we timed our "dates" correctly. Now the waiting game. I saw someone write that when the implantation happens that you can get a crampy type of feeling? Is that true???

I don't know about the cramping during implantation, but they say you should get an implantation bleed. I remember getting that in my two previous pregnancies.  I haven't seen any to date and it has been 10 days since my IUI.  It takes 10 to 14 das for it to implant.

Do you remember how you were feeling when you discovered you were pregnant?

by faithful83, Oct 23, 2008 04:48PM
I am on my 1st cycle of Clomid. I just got my test results back today that said I did indeed ovulate. I took a preg test this morning (tired of waiting) but it came back negative. Oh well, it's only day 26. Maybe the next test will look the way I want it to. :)
Sometimes I think, "what are the chances of me being pregnant on the very first try".
I have very sore nipples and have been constipated. I'm guessing that's all due to the Clomid though. We'll see...

Just wondering whether anyone has tried going to a herbalist or naturopath while also being on the clomid?
My periods have yet again not turned up. 2 months in a row and i am losing my patience with people about things.
My Gp questioned me as to why i am so fixed on trying to have a baby now seeming i am so young. I replied well i was told when i was 14 that i most likely wouldnt be able to have children due to problems i had previously had and so i have always wanted to start trying as soon as i possibly could. I also informed her that my mum had difficultlies as well and has a similar history to me. To which she replied well there have been major improvements in medicine since then so you should be fine. Ahhhhh. SO annoyed with her. She know about my gyn visits and that i have been on Clomid for more than 6months now and i am still not ovulating. I would really like to know what medical advances she is talking about. Feel so lost at the moment...

Sorry Just realised that you posted back. With the cysts i didnt know i had them until the gyn did an Ultrasound on me and had a concerned look on his face. I still havent been able to start my next dosage of Clomid as my periods still havent turned up. Just wanting the Gyn to have a look and see if there is something internally wrong now. Hoping all went well with your 2nd dose. Let us know how you go with the 100mg.

I feel your pain.  After you do your u/s, maybe you should take provera to induce your period.  I had to do that as I was becoming clomid resisitant and had to up my dose to 150mg after I induced.

I chickened out of taking the hpt today, but I'll take it tomorrow as hubby is anxoius.

I think you should change your OBGYN.  I think I;ll ***** slap her if she said something like that to me.  Fertility is a very delicate issue and care givers are taught to be more sensitive.

I have a cousin who is a doctor of natural medicine.  he was trained in Cuba and I already plan on paying him a visit if the round is negative.  Hubby and I have decided if this rond doesn't work to lay off the clomid for 3-6 months.

BTW, how old are you?

I do still have some Provera sitting in the cupboard from when i had to take it the first time. But i am just waiting for my gyn to let me know what the next step is. He should be back from his holidays soon. If not i know he is back in 2 weeks time.
I have pretty much decided that i am going to give the herbalist a call. I dont normally go natural for things but hey it cant hurt. I know the Gyn wont up my dosage due to the cysts i got last time.
The worst thing was that it wasnt by gyn that said it. It was my regular GP. My gyn has been supportive. How many rounds have you taken so far?
I am 24 next month. But i do have the maturity of a 40 they say.

Well I took the test and it was negative.  This was my 6th round of clomid and I don't intend to take anymore next month.  If my period doesn't come by Saturday I'll do the test again and take it from there.  Don't mean to be a pessimist, but I am tired.

I wish you all the best.

Hi Jay

Just been reading this post, I am taking Clomid 50mg 2nd round but also have been taking Agnus Cactus, Wild Root Yam, Wheatgrass Juice and Baby Aspirin as I skipped a period and had to have it induced, 4 weeks after taking the herbs I had a natural period which is the most pain free and medium flow I've had since I was in my 20's (just turned 40)

Hope this helps with the herbal question, Oh by the way your Ob/Gyn person sounds like a complete arse!!!

Hi All, Well i have been in contact with a lady who works with herbs and medicine to book an appointment and find out how things work. She has told me that she has a 100% success rate with people who have PCOS. She has a 95% success rate for all clients who have been with her for 3 cycles.  She normally deals with people over 38 years and has that kind of a success rate. WOW.
Anyway i have an appointment next week with her.. (it is costing me a bit but with all the gyn appointments, ultrasounds and clomid tablets works out about the same so far). So no more Clomid for me. She believes that i should be pregnant within 2 cycles of seeing her because of my age. So fingers crossed for me.
If there are any women in NSW - Sydney, South Coast Area it is a good idea to give her a call. Message me for details on how to contact her.

I also read via the Australian Natural Therapies Association website that you shouldnt be on Clomid for more than 6 months anyway.
Anyway, Fingers crossed for a baby in the next couple of months. And Fingers crossed for everyone out there too. Will let you know if any advancements...

I just currently finished a cycle of 50 mg of clomid and will take my HCG injection on saturday. I had 3 follicles at the ultrasound ranging 16mm to 20mm he said by saturday they should have matured enough to to my shot. I have pcos so also take metaformin and avandia for my insulin resistance. I can do a pregnancy test on the 14th I can hardly wait. I just wish you could know the success rates, but I am happy with follicles to work with. GOOD LUCK TO ALL.

I had a tubal reversal 2 years ago, nothing yet. I took clomid for 3 months and nothing. I have 3 older kids and can't figure out why I can't get pregnant now. I have tried almost standing on my head....lol. Don't know what else to do, so if anybody knows how, please feel free to help.

anyone know what side effects are for the hcg shot haven't had one of those before, but I know the clomid makes me about half crazy just wondering what to expect.

I'm on the the 28th day of my cycle but I'm cramping, so I'm sure I will get AF. The good thing is that my progesterone level is up to 56 which my doctor was very happy with. I'm on 500mg of Glucophage 3 times a day and I feel sick all the time and have bad cramps.

Has any one else had problems with the Glucophage?
I will start the third round of clomid this month.
