Remind me...did he require special formula???  If he was on a special formula (hypoallergenic, soy, etc...) then I would take it very slow.  Start with 2oz per day and watch him for a week.  If there don't appear to be any changes in mood, sleeping, temperament, stools, skin, etc...increase it to 3-4 ounces a day and monitor for a week, etc... until you're sure everything is great!  :)

Even if he had no GI issues...I'd still take it slow.  Whole milk is hard to digest for anyone and very constipating.  Maybe start with a few ounces per day (if taste is an issue you can slowly mix it in with his formula a few ounces at a time until eventually it's fully milk and he's used to it.)

I can't think of anything else...good luck though!  Hope it's an easy transition!

Thanks Amy how have you been?

He was (is) on Similac Alimentum but has donegood with Ice cream etc... The doctor said she believes he will have no problems though!

I am going to begin with a sippy of a couple ounces tomorrow! Wish me luck!

when we switched our daughter to milk - we made a nice slow transition - we fixed her bottle with half milk, half water and a little formula - you'll find what works best for your little one - we slowly decreased the water, upped the milk - she's now on all milk - the other thing that we do is we do still use the Enfamil Next Step toddler formula - our daughter is still on a lot of baby food because she only has six teeth - all in the front - so we wanted to make sure she is still getting lots of nutrients - her pediatrician said the toddler formula was fine to continue using - so we do add two scoops of formula to the milk in her bottles - next step - sippy cups and no bottles!!!  best of luck with your transition!

Ava jumped right on the whole milk scene.  Of course she was and still is breastfed.  I still haven't weaned her yet completely.. she LOVES whole milk though!  I guess it's a change from drinking the warm stuff.  :)
