Symptoms Before Knowing You Are Pregnant......

by Dawn1234, Aug 29, 2006 12:00AM
Good morning ladies!!!  I don't know if this has been posted before.... I searched for it but didn't see anything so here it goes!  I was just wondering really how soon PG symptoms can start?  I have noticed the past week that I have woken up nauseas (sp) and I have been slighty fatigued.  I have gotten 8+ hours a sleep a night and have not changed my diet at all.  I'm really praying this is the month that I will find out!!!  I'm due for my period in the next week..... I hope I'm not getting my hopes up :(

Symptoms of pregnancy will not show up until there is enough HCG in your system to get a positive preg test and even then some women still do not detect preg symptoms until they are a few weeks along. PMS and preg symptoms are so similar it is hard to tell them apart.

I know what you are going through. I am due today but nothing and no signs that she is coming. I am feeling the same way as you  but like Harley said the symptoms of pregnancy and PMS ar so much alike. It's very cruel...lol. Good luck to you I hope everything works out the way you want it to.

yeah...i feel the same way like im gonna have AF minus the nausea part... i have been feeling tired since sunday...im on the 24th day of the 28th day cycle (which is totally not ideal for me).. i also feel light back pain and pain down there like AF is having a hard time coming out...u know what i mean? so i just hope we're both preggers.... sticky baby dust to us all  *~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*

FYI.. the symptoms of PMS and pregnancy are so alike because they are caused by the same hormone.. PROGESTERONE!! it is evil.. haha.  Soo.. any early symptom you may have is due to progesterone.  Progesterone will fall off and regulate back to normal when/if af comes.  If not then you are pregnant.. :-)

so hopefully you are pregnant and not just feeling normal progesterone symptoms that come alone with PMS.. good luck and baby dust for you!

Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) it is the pregnancy hormone that is detected by the pregnancy test.

Dang girl, how'd you remember that one, esp the 'G'? I also just say it's the pregnancy hormone.

BTW, congratulations on having a girl!! They are sooo much fun. Put cute little dresses on them, high ponytails, pigtails, etc. WEre you the one who was already thinking of having another one while still pregnant? Sorry, I don't remember if it was or not

With my DS, I had absolutely no symptoms until I was about 6 weeks pg and then cramping started, like period cramps.  Nausea didn't happen until around 7-8 weeks.

With this pg (I'm 8w 3d), I felt a general yuckiness and a tad nauseous about 4 days before my period was due.  Then when my period was due I had a few little waves of nausea.  I didn't think much of it at the time (we weren't exactly trying) but looking back I did feel symptoms pretty early.  I did not test until 3 days past due, so I don't know if I would have gotten a BFP or not yet.

Hey, I don't think it's crazy. I agree that little ones need playmates. I think I'M the crazy one wanting 3 so close together. My 1st 2 are 24 months apart, the 2nd two will be 20 months apart. Now that's crazy. Oh, add in 2 dogs.

There's nothing sweeter than you're little ones both giving you hugs and giggling at the same time :) Just wait till I tell my 3yr old that there's another baby in mommy's belly. She'll be tickled pink. My son (1 today) won't understand anything until he sees the baby.

Just wait till we tell our family and friends. Now they'll definitely call me crazy.

BTW, the pull out method doesn't work very well, like I hoped it wouldn't :-)

sorry for getting off the subject.

This is my, geess, 7th pregnancy. With this one, I was a POAS since end of march. I had a m/c & D&C beginning of march. For the last couple months, I paid attention to every little thing, every little twinge. But after this month, I was ready to give up. I had done evening primose oil, vitex, vitamin b6, vitamins, folic acid, and OPK's all this month. I was too busy pumping pills in my system and paying attention to my cm and temps that I forgot about testing or anything. Plus I didn't think I had conceived. In the middle of the month, I had extrutiating cramps. I thought for sure AF was coming early again. I even had some brownish bleeding. Then this past weekendc I noticed that on one occasion I got really stressed out and was cramping. Had some more brown stuff. AF was due yesterday, and only then did I decide to test...BFP. I figured the longer I waited to test, the more accurate the result will be, and not trying to decide "is it a line?" ****. Just try to hold off at least till 12 dpo, and see what happens

Is this your first pregnancy?  I'm on my second pregnancy and I knew I was pregnant within a week of conceiving. We targeted ovulation using the moon sign and my estimated ovulation and within a week, no kidding, I was up peeing all night, exhausted, and sex felt different. My vagina was immediately more "puffy" inside and out. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, you know your body better than anyone. Some women get symptoms right away and some don't, everyone's different. Good luck and let everyone know what happens!

Ladies thank you SO much for all your wisdom.  Yes this will be my first pregnancy..... that's why I feel so stupid cause I know absolutely nothing.  I am so glad that a few months ago I came across this website and was lucky to be able to "meet" all of you.  I couldn't have asked for anything more.  I have learned so much in the past few months to last a lifetime.... and i know it will :).  Just a lil update.... according to my chart, this was SUPPOSE to be the first day of my AF ( i think i got the right one, don't know all the abbreviations :) )  But i know my body and I have a feeling ( if i get it) it'll be saturday morning or next week wednesday... i'm praying not.   know at the most I could only be a little more than 3 weeks along if i am...... i just hope it's not my body being mean to me :(  I have been waking up with nausia and i have NEVER been like that before even before my lovely friend.  I am really keeping my fingers crossed cause my poor hubby was almost in tears last night when i mentioned the word baby :(

Its different for every woman. I had alot of symptoms of pregnancy and took four tests and got all negatives...the 5th one was a positive. I knew I wasnt crazy. Now I'll be 5 months in about a week. So don't always listen when people say its not possible to have symptoms before a positive test. Same goes for my friend who just got a positive after having symptoms for a week.

i have a question im now experiencing different syptoms (symptoms) in my body that i havent before those similar to pregnancy but also pms. well my questions was do you always feel symptoms througout your prenancy im not sure if i am next week i will be gettin checked out. well my weird symptoms started when i was coming back to visit my hubby in new jersey, hes military so before he left overseas i was able to see him for 4 days. well i went the 23rd of august and flew back on the 28th of august which was the sixth day of my stay up there. that day i experience some pinkish spotting. for some days. so it went all the way through to the beginning of sept. (this month) the reason i am a bit weird out right now is because what seems to be my period again is happening right now but its not a normal flow at all. i can say i wear a pantiliner and nothing just when i go to the bathroom i notice some blood residue. i have had the syptoms (symptoms) like nausea, fatigue, slight cramps, back pain and even some breast tenderness but as i said it can be a sign of pms as well thats why its so confusing. but my so called "period" went as follows. the first day i experienced some bleeding was friday the 21st and that was just pinkish throughout the day. saturday it was just a brown discharge in the evening, and sunday it was the pinkish again with some brown discharge and then at night i had some bright red, no clots though just a bright red bleeding. the next morning (monday) it went back to brownish residue all day and today tuesday i woke up this morning with a mix of both bright red and brownish but more brown. i scheduled to go to the doc next week but could this be a possibility. i havent felt any more crazy syptoms (symptoms) they seem to come and go but through what i thought was my period or perhaps it is i have experienced mild crampin here and there with some nausea. i dunno im so confused! do you always feel symptoms throughout your pregnancy or can u wake up one morning and not feel anything throughout the day? im sorry this is so long! im just weird out. thank you so much for reading! oh and one more thing when you are on your period arent your symptoms of pms suppose to go? like the cramping and such or has anyone actually experienced this through their periods as well??

my husband and I stopped preventing pregnancy about three weeks ago.  About 1 week after we stopped using protection(condoms) i felt, i guess like butterflies, in the pit of my gut.  Since then, the muscles in my abdomen and sides of my stomach have been sore.  I feel like there is pressure on my stomach,so i haven't been able to eat much for fear of vomiting.  im not due for my period for another two weeks and a home preg. test said i was not.  Could i be pregnant, or am I just being a wishful pms'er?  Please let me know.   thanx

I'm feeling the exact same way as most women here.  I have irregular cycles anyway, but I'm 33 days into my cycle and no period. I am having cramps for four days now but still...no period.  My boobs have never been this sore, especially around the nipple.  Something feels different but I dont' want to "believe" I may be pregnant just incase it's only my "intense desire to have another child" playing tricks on me.  But something feels different, and I've never actually had this intense desire until the last month.  IT'S TORTURE!
