Hi,

I was reading your post about your angel's constipation.  Mine had bad cases of it up until a couple months ago.  If he is pooping hard balls--he is constipated.  If he doesn't poop for a week--it is ok.  Anyway, they have liquid suppositories that you insert and squeeze into their butt--only half of the tube.  I cannot for the life of me remember the name, but they should be at any drugstore. Also, put Karo syrup in his bottle--some of the ladies called in Kayro--but it is Karo.  I didn't want you looking for the wrong thing.  Also, giving him/her some apple juice also help--about 8oz.  If you don't want to do the suppositories, then do the Karo syrup and juice.  Actually, I would honestly call your nurse first--I don't know if he would be too young for the suppositories--you don't want to cause any additional pain.  As for the juice and the syrup--the amounts depend on the age--so ask about those too.  They do have gas medicine at the drugstore--and I don't think there is an age on that.  But, please call your nurse.  I know how agonizing it can be to see your baby in pain.  But call to see exactly what to give him and he will be ok:)

Thank you so much, his grandma took him from me for a while, and he seemed to do a little better with her, she said probably 'cause I was so scared about something being wrong with him and he sensed it...

My son had terrible constipation at first.  The karo syrup was the only thing that worked for him.  I had to put about a teaspoon in every bottle for a while.  Good luck!
