Question: My doctor told me that my body would be ready in about 2 week to TTC again. Yet the Dr. that did my D & C said that he tells people to wait for 1 to two cycles, because if you concieve soon after a m/c you have a higher rate to m/c again. Any thoughts?
I hear different things on it. I think after a normalNormal saline flush miscarrage (miscarriage) its fine to start right away, but a d&c emties everything and my doctor told me you want to have at least a period to build that lining back up or it may not implant correctly, although many can atest to the fact that they didnt wait and now are expecting with no problems.
I'm one of those on here that conceived 3 weeks after m/c BUT, I did not have a D&C. Any chance you can get another doctor's opinion to ease your mind one way or the other?
I was told to wait 3 cycles to give your lining a chance to build back up again and also that if you don't wait it can increase the chances of m/c.... just my two cents! :)
Mine told me as soon as m/c bleeding was done I could ttc but it's easier to date the pregnancy after 1 cycle and gives you a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys more time to heal. I have heard it's best to wait after a D&C because of the scraping. That's one of the reasons I wanted to m/c on my own. Sounds more like Dr,'s opinion varies. Good luck ttc again.
Sorr for your lost. I actually m/c on 5/2 and got an d&c on 5/3. So I know how devasting it may be. I had my follow up a week ago, & asked my Dr when could I start ttc. She said after 1 cycle. I read alot of success stories on this forum with pregnancies occuring, and going to full term before they even got there 1st af. Of course the decision is completely up to you, but I actually started trying almost a week ago. If its meant to happen it will. God has his own plans for everyone. So whether I wait a month, or even 5, his result is already planned for me. I just pray that things turn out fine this time. I will pray that your outcome turns out better this time as well.
I think each dr is different. My dr. told me to wait two months. I didn't. I m/c in June 06 and got pregnant aug. 06 and that was a chemical pregnancy and then got pregnant oct 06 and now 35w3d.
My fetal pole was 6 weeks 3 days, but my gestational sac was 10. Ideally I wanted to start right away, but after seeing all that stuff come out of me... I may have to wait before I let anything go in me. :) They said I would start my af in about 2-4 weeks, so as much as I want to be pregnant again, I guess I should "paint the town red" one more time. Did anyone have any discomfort after the D & C? I'm noticing almost like something sharp is poking me on the outside every now and then, but I'm thinking I may have a toilet paper cut from wiping so much. :) (TMI.. sorry)
Yes-I wish they would all give us the same advice! I had a natural miscarriage and within 12 days I ovulated and got pregnant. My doctor told me it was perfectly fine to try and conceive with my first cycle and that the reason some tell you to wait is so that they can date the pregnancy. It also depends on what type of miscarriage you had and how far along you were. I was only 5 1/2 weeks. Good luck!
Wishing you all the best.
Good Luck!
