TTC after the pill

Is it true you are infertile for a little while after you go off the pill or is it true that you are fertile right away? I have heard both. I plan on going off the pill in December. How long did it take everyone to conceive after going off the pill? I have been on and off the pill for almost ten years. I am 27.

You can get pg immediately after stopping the pill.  This is why some women get pg while on the pill, after forgetting to take one or two mid-cycle.

I also went off the pill in April and conceived in May. :)  It varies, so don't get frustrated if it doesn't happen for you right away.  Good luck!! :)

I am 27 and I am currently 18 weeks, 5 days.  I stopped taking my BC bills in April after 3 years and we conceived in May.  It varies woman to woman.  When TTC my OB said to allow about 3 months or so for the hormones to leave my system but it took less than that.  I hope this helps!

It's true, every woman is different.  i have been off the pill for 6 months and still trying.  My problem is that I am so irregular.  I decided to start using O trackers.  I think it may have worked this month!  Wish me luck and good luck to you.

I have mostly been on the pill but have stopped for a few months every now and then and my periods were always regular. I never tracked the date or anything but they always came around the same time every month.

I was off the pill for 5 months. Tried to conceive on the 6th and suceeded. Good luck!(39 weeks)

I stopped the pill after 5 years July 5th Ovulated July 15th and was pregnant the end of July.

An OBGYN and and OBGYN nurse both told me that a woman is very fertile after coming off the pill and that she experiences a super ovulation.  This is because the pill inhibits ovulation, so right after getting off the eggs are ready to come out.  I personally got pregnant right after I stopped taking the pill and I was actually taking steps not to get pregnant.
