Tasty Pregnancy (and stress) Snack/Open Forum

by AshleysMom, Oct 01, 2007 04:58PM
OK, I just got desparate for something sweet and raided my daughter's cupboard.  I'm not sure if it's the pregnancy (6w1d) or the stress of having had 10 m/cs in a row and an upcoming dreaded first scan on Wed...

At any rate, I just made the tastiest treat.  Sounds gross, but it is GOOD.

Make some instant pudding (I chose butterscotch)
Melt a bunch of marshmellows in a bowl in the microwave (about 30 seconds)
Add the pudding and stir a little.
Adding some chocolate chips wouldn't be a bad idea either, now that I think about it.

I am in heaven right now.  Just thought I'd share.  Let me know if you guys have any concoctions.

OK, this is WAY off the topic I created, but does anyone know if it's safet o use nail polish while preg?  I did with my dd, but just read that it can cause birth defects.  I hope they're wrong because I look a mess right now.

P.S.  I am officially craving pumpkin now!  Have you ever had pumpkin flan?  It is unbelievable.

You really should try the pudding/marshmellow concoction though...

nail polish? no..i haven't heard anything about that. I had pedicures with my 1st and now 2nd pregnancy. What are they saying it does to the baby?

Pumpkin ANYTHING....I LOVE PUMPKIN..lol...
Pumpkin soup, bread, pie, fudge, i wonder if they make ice cream?
I also LOVE pumpkin beer...i told my dh to buy a case of it so i can have it after the baby is born. I guess i can have a few sips in the 3rd trimester...

If you remove nail polish with toluene, that is bad, I have heard.  Toluene has been implicated as a carcinogen.

Pumpkin cheescake?  I'm there.  This weekend I bought a box of chocolates, so stupid because I'm officially off desserts until I lose 15 lbs. [ha! ha! ha!] and I have been sneaking them one or two at a time.  It's all the fault of a friend whose birthday it was -- since I don't know him all that well but had been invited to the party, I bought him some fancy chocolates.  Well, didn't want the box of chocolates to get lonely on the ride home from the chocolate shop, so I bought one for myself too.  I am wondering why dh hasn't noticed my chocolate breath.  There are three left in the box, and after that I'm back on the straight and narrow.  I hope I don't get invited to any more parties.  :)
