HI Adriana,

I personally always found with the two older kids that a frozen face cloth was better than anbesol or teething tablets.

Hope she feels better soon.

I work in preschool and I can tell you that for most children, teachers and parents - teething tablets are a godsend!  I'd ask your pediatrician their opinion but if they give you the go-ahead - give them a try!  I think you'll love them.

I used to use Hyland's teething tablets and they helped some.  Now, I give her Tylenol when it's really bad b/c I feel the tablets don't do anything anymore (she'll be 14 months in 12 days).

I'm a retrired dental assisstant and a mom. In my experiences and our practice- we gave the anbesol and beething tablets an ok- mainly it was to keep the mamma happy.  With the anbesol its so messy and it effects are hardly worth the effort.  I know when I used it on my son he would make faces.  And even when used later on in life for like cold sores or whatever- it dramatically slows the healing process.  Tylenol and Motrin can be used in invteravls should you really get in a bind.  And the best thing that worked for Jacked was a cold teether.  Just make sure you don't get on with "things" floating in it.  I did that and I was constantly worried about him choaking if he broke thought it.  We had tons of teethers and I'd find em' everywhere.  And like aniousmom said a cold face cloth works too. : )

Nanis-I got Brody teething tablets and have used them twice. I guess I didn't really notice a difference though. Maybe he isn't truly teething yet. He was very fussy the weekend before last and we thought that was it. He is chewing on his hands a ton. It's all he wants to do!

Hi, my 2 year old has been taking teething tablets since she was abut 4 months old. For her they work wonders. She is tryin to cut her 2 year old molars at the moment and has been up all night for the past couple of days. I finally broke out the teething tablets and they seem to help a lot. She goes right to sleep about 5 minutes after I give them to her. I also give her tylenol too. We used to give baby orajel, but since she has a mouth full of teeth, (except her back ones) and bites down on our fingers, we just usually stick to the tablets and tylenol. Ive tried cold rags for her to chew on and she gets irritated at the coldness on her face. She used to chew a lot on cold teething rings when she was a baby. Good luck! I know it can be very very frustrating to see your baby in pain.
