The Sex of the Baby

The Sex of the Baby

I  wrote something similiar last week on what I am about to write on and never heard anything so I am re-writting this. Has anyone here that has had children and had an ultrasound been told that they were going to have a girl or boy and had the opposite. I had one ultrasound at 20 weeks and was told it was a girl. The reason why I am asking is that my Mother-in-law said she had a dream that I was having a boy. A friend of mine which is a RN nurse and she swears that I am having a boy and that she is never wrong. I went on vacation with my husband and this elderly man comes up to me out of the blue and said I was having a boy. I don't think my Dr will do another ultrasound. It is confusing though. What should I believe?

I live in Houston Tx and I can't find anyone to do the 3D ultrasound without the approval of my DR and she want do it. She claims its a money making scheme and doesn't want any part of it. I am willing to pay what ever money it takes. I have researched the internet in my area and I can't find nothing.

Try these...they have the 4D ultrasounds in your area.

http://www.gehealthcare.com/usen/ultrasound/4d/4d_sitequest_mini2.html?address=&city=&state=TX&x=7&y=7

This company states the following about there ultrasound referrals

"14.  I am seeing someone else for my prenatal care, can I still get my ultrasound from the Sugarland Women's Health Center?

We do recognize that this technology is not yet widely available. So as a service to the community, we will offer it to you either with or without your physician's referral.  However, if you are self referred, please do not ask us to deal with your insurance company.  We much rather spend the time taking care of our patients."

Here is the link to there site:   http://www.slwhc.com/index.html

They are located in SW Houston.  They have a price list for those paying cash on thier site as well.

Good luck.  Let us know how it turns out.

Take care,

Amanda

Thank you so much. I really appreciate you going out of your way to do this. It means a whole lot to me. It is 7:15AM right now and as soon as the offices start opening, I will call and try to make an appointment for sugarland. Bless you so much. Suni

I just scheduled my 4d ultrasound yesterday.  I live in Illinois and my mom lives in Alabama and the prices were nearly the same.  It is $100 for the exam and with that I get a video, or pictures, or a cd.  I chose the video and for $20 more I can get the pics too.  I had my first ultrasound and we desperatly wanted a girl but we did not tell the u/s tech that.  She said 85% its a girl.  We had to go back two weeks later to get next u/s and got 100% its a girl from a different tech.  Next week I am going for u/s #3 and hopefully she will still be a girl. Then with the 4d, I think we will know for sure.  My baby is stubborn lol and tiny and laying wrong for the u/s that is why we are doing so many.  They cannot see her lip and the two main valves that come out of her heart.  They can see most of the heart valves but not all of them.

I called the clinics above and 2 of the clinics were referels only but the last one doesn't need a referel and they said to come in and you don't even need an appointment. I am planning to go this monday. I am so excited. They said the fee was only $80.00. I don't know why my Dr is so against it. I think it is the neatest thing.

I had three different women who claimed they could see the future, tell me and my x-husband, even before we got married that we would have a son. We divorced, he remarried and had a son with her. I still have never had a child of my own, but I am remarried and a stepmom to two girls who live with us full time. We are trying for one of my own and ofcourse with two girls my husband wants a boy. I guess one day I might see if they got the story right, just not with whom.

It was no problem at all.  I am more than happy to help.  I am so glad you were able to get into one.

I understand the concern by some doctors or over exposure and all, but I would think that would make them more inclined to do it since it would be at their office by the techs that they hire.  I don't see the harm in one extra ultrasound.  They do them at my ob's for $100 they clearly state that it is for the parents only and not a diagnostic one (unless they need to do one and can find it medically necessary). At my doctor's office you get a copy of the whole thing and several pictures as well.

Good luck to you !  I can't wait to hear how it went...please post it here.

Good luck!!  Amanda
