The little microscope

HI everybody I sometimes feel weird asking questions that all of you living in  USA might consider general knowledge but over here in Croatia where I come from this is a new product on the market. The question is: IS THE TINY MICROSCOPE THAT YOU USE TO DETERMINE YOUR FERTILE DAYS USEFUL meaning if I take the liquids from my mouth, put it under a microscope, let it dry and read the result from the formed stripey or dotty appearance. Can this help realise are you ovulating or is it just another product made to sell. I hope I dont sound funny for alot of you but I really tryed explaining the best I can and I guess that you know what Im talking about. The product ( microscope)is called "MAYBE BABY"   Thanks.

Hi D!  I used the saliva microscope this past month.  Its kind of tricky to learn how to use, but it does work.  However, it does not work for all women.  Some women do not "Fern" when they are more fertile.  It did work for me, and I did notice Ferning 2 days before I ovulated.  So, to answer your question, yes the microscope does work, but not for everyone.  The only way you will know if it works for you is to try it.  Good luck!!

Gee thanks thats good to know cos I bought it and started using it but I guess Im not fertile yet. I hardly wait til I can start trying again but even if Im holding back still cos my doc. says its too soon I really want to know if my body has started working properly and dont want to panic yet cos the doc s  here dont send you to do hormone tests as often as over there(or it seems)but I want to be prepared and healthy before I ttc so I want to play it cosciously ( Hope I spelled that right)  
rather than finding out stuff when Im ready to try to conceive
I want to see if Ill ovulate each month Im a bit worried cos I havent had my period since d/c and its been 8 weeks. THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR HELP. CIAO

Hye i jsut saw the ad in my baby magazine. i was very curious about it myself. how do you use it exactly and is it expensive?? I wonder if they are more accurate that opk/s ??? thanks Hope

Hope, they are very cheap and are supposed to be pretty reliable if done correctly. Basically around your suspected fertile times you place a drop of your saliva on the provided slide, allow it to dry and then look at it under the microscope. If you notice a "ferning" pattern, it is supposed to indicate ovulation.

I have seen a few on eBay for about 30 bucks including shipping, so pretty cheap in the long run.

hey andrea, well i got to looking at the calendar today, to see when my 28th day is exactly. well i remembered that i was going to start a chart with fertility friend. com and recalled entering my last period date. so then i counted and I'm one day late. well I'm never late, and I'm like clockwork. I'ts a long shot.. but keep your fingers crossed. I'm trying to wait 2 more days to test.... that will be a long shot too!!! lol Hope
