Thought I ovulated but unsure

by mami1323, Jul 25, 2006 12:00AM
I have been ttc for 7 months now.  This month I've been charting my bbt and using an opk.  My opk had a pos LH surge on the 23rd, just like last month.  I usually find that I have a pos surge for 3 more days.  That day my temp was 97.12 and yesterday my temp jumped up to 97.70, and I had a pos opk as well as ovulation pain.  I read that my temp has to stay elevated for at least 3 days, which lets me know that I have ovulated.  This morning I woke up my temp was 97.44.  Why did it go down?  Did I not ovulate?  If anyone can give me some answers I would really appreciate it.  This is the first month I have charted my bbt.  I do it every day at 7 am (which is as soon as I wake up). HELP!!!

If you sleep with your mouth open it can effect your temperatures.  Other than that, I'm not sure.  It appears that your temp did stay above the 97.12 but just not above the 97.7 - I think that your temp just needs to stay above he 97.12 for 3 days or more to confirm ovulation.  Of course there's a chance that you didn't ovulate this month.

I tracked my BBT last month as well and had a BFP on Monday and I'm 5w today.  I used www.fertilityfriend.com  It's a great site and it can answer a ton of your questions.  You can even track your temps on there and it will put your cover line on the chart for you.  Try that.  When I O my temp stayed up.  Let me know what you think of the site.

Hello, I am going to tell you my story.  In May I was doing opk and bbt and this is how it went for me,  I got my temp. rise after pos. opk and then on 2dpo my temp tropped to just above my cover line and it stayed down the next day too, and I was also afraid that I had not O'd.  Well, at 4dpo my temp shot right back up to where it was before the drop, and later that month I found out that I was indeed pg.  Unfortunately that pg ended in another m/c (my third), but keep doing the bbt and if it shoots back up it could be an implanatation dip.  I didn't tell you this to get your hopes up, but I just wanted to share my experiance. I hope this is your month, and good luck to you.

I actually do track on www.fertilityfriend.com.  I love the site.  It is very helpful.  It's only my first month so I really have nothing to compare it to.  If I don't get a BFP this month, hopefully next month I will be able to at least look back and see my cycle.

Thank you for the hope.  I'm sorry to hear about your m/c.  Hopefully you will get lucky as well.  It always does help to hear other women's stories.  This site has helped me a lot.  All my friends conceived very easily so it helps talking to other women who can relate to the frustration and disappointment.  It also is very informative and does give me the strength and hope that I need.  I would love to be a mother some day soon.  Good luck to you as well.

I would wait ans see what tomorrow's temp says. It went down, but not enough to think no O yet. See what tomorrow's temp says, I think it will be very good! :)

I hope it's good news.  It will almost be 8 months of ttc.  Can't wait to get some good news.

Oh, I know how you feel! I went from being excited ttc, then mad, then obsessed and finally just plain sad. Then, it happened!

How long did it take you to conceive?

by mami1323, Jul 26, 2006 12:00AM
Okay I took my temp this morning and it shot back up to 97.75.  On fertilityfriend.com it says that ovulation hasn't been predicted yet.  Could this mean that I didn't ovulate?  This is so confusing.

by luv_babies, Jul 26, 2006 12:00AM
No, it doesn't mean you haven't ovulated yet. FF is a great site, but it sucks at the same time. You have to give a couple days sometimes, especially since you just started the software will remember your cycles and be able to predict your O days and such better.

BTW, it took us 9 months and meds to get pregnant. (I have endo and PCOS)

To think that ttc would be easy.  It took my best friend her first month of trying.  She was on bc for about 11 years and just came off of it.  I start to think what's wrong with me that I can't conceive a child.
