Three sacs and no yolks

On August 9th my doctor confirmed that I was pregnant. We didnt know when becasue I have not have a menstral cycle since 2006 due to pregnancy and an IUD. Today I went to a specialist who did an ultrasound and told me that there were three sacs but no babies. No embryos. No yolks. Nothing but empty sacs. I had blood work done last friday and my hCG level was 40,000 and I did more blood work the following tuesday but my hCG levels were only at 44,000. The doctor said it was most likely a blighted ovum and that I would need a D&C if I didnt miscarry on my own. Can he be right? Are my sacks empty? They really dont even know how far along I am and they are telling me that I should D&C. I am so confused. I want to wait and I hope they are wrong. Has anyone had this happen to them?

i think by your HGC levels i think you are about 6 weeks along .... here is a we site that might help you http://www.fertilinet.com/hcg_%20levels_in_%20pregnancy.htm or.... http://www.pregnancy-calendars.net/hcg.aspx .... but being that U have 3 you levels might be higher than normal so you could only less week that that hence them not being able to see any babies only the yoke sak my opion is to get you doctor to take another blood test and another scan in a few more weeks
