Total Previa at 25 Weeks

Total Previa at 25 Weeks

I am a mother of two and I am pregnant with my third (and last). At 12 wks I had some minor bleeding and went in for an U/S and was diagnosed with Total Previa. I am now 25 wks, have had two U/S since going for the third in 2 weeks and so far there has been no change in the placenta. I am still working and moving around but am having cramping and there are days I just cant do much at all but thankfully no bleeding since 12 wks.

I have been searching the net for stories/discussions about women who have had previa that either changed its presence on/or about 25 wks or later but have not come across many at all. I'm trying to be positive and keep hopes that my placenta will be good to us and move but I dont know if it really will. We're nearing our due date (April 26, 2008) and are even closer to being full term. I feel like time is running out.

I am honestly worried and wonder what the stats are really like for women with Previa. Can anyone help ease my mind?

Thanks.

Ree

i was trying to find info on this at the beginning of my pregnancy b/c the doctor told me that i could have a chance of having it this time around due to having 3 previous c-sections...  i was also not able to come accross anyone who had not had their placenta move on its own to find out what could happen.  i found this link just now...  i know youv'e done research already and you may have already read it but i'll put it below...

I had placenta previa at 19 weeks & it moved but it wasnt until my 3rd trimester.  My doc thought I was going to have to have a csection!  I bled a ton too!  I sneezed and I bled!

I heard that when it's diagnosed in the first or early second trimester, the chances are higher than if it's diagnosed later in pregnancy.  I, too, hope that your placenta will move up.  I was diagnosed with partial placenta previa and bled a lot weeks 14-20.  Once the placenta moved up completely, it stopped (the bleeding).  Good luck to you.
