Transition to sleeping in crib

Transition to sleeping in crib

Hey everyone. My DD is 2 months old and she was diagnosed with reflux a few weeks ago. We have been having her sleep in her bouncy chair thing (lol...not sure what exactly it is) and now we want to put her in her crib to sleep. Right now she is actually napping and we have her propped up on her boppy in her crib. We safety pinned the two ends of the boppy together so it holds her in place. The question I have is...what is the easiest way to get her to get comfortable sleeping in her crib? She is starting to outgrow her chair and won't be able to sleep in it much longer. We have tried putting her in her crib a few times already but she does that jerking/twitching thing and it wakes her up. When she is in her chair she is kinda bundled in there so she feels more comfortable. I tried swaddling her and then putting her in her crib to sleep but she just kicks and moves her arms until they are free, then she will fall asleep and not long after will twitch and wake up. Its a never ending battle. Any suggestions at all? Her crib mattress is elevated also. We have to have her head up as much as possible as night because of her severe reflux......any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ladies.

xoxoxox,
Danielle

don't have any advice because we're trying to figure out the same thing, only my dd needs the elevation due to congestion. she'll be 7 months this weekend, and is still in her bassinet because it's mattress can be easily propped and it has a buckle like a bouncy set that keeps her from sliding down.

but the reason i am posting is i wanted to let you know i saw a news report this weekend about boppys. in 2006, there were 3 SIDS deaths reported where the baby was sleeping on the boppy in one county (I think it was Westchester County in NY). i found that number to be very scary.

You can purchase a sleep positioner.  This will keep the baby snuggled so that your dd isn't all over the place.  There are a bunch of different ones you can buy.  We bought one that actually inclined to reduce reflux.  My son slept in it one night.  He was so big that he outgrew it really fast and he never really took to it.  I believe babies r us has a ton of choices.
