Treatment of cradle cap and baby acne

It seems like all of a sudden my baby's beautiful skin has gone up in flames LOL:)  He developed cradle cap and baby acne.  Anybody have any suggestions that worked well and are gentle?

I could not get the acne to go away for anything.  Cradle cap on the head I would brush AJ's hair (head) with a comb for a while before i would put him in the tub and wash it with baby shampoo.  It would come back a bit when we got out of the tub, but it would be less and less each time.  Some people say to use dandruff shampoo, I did not.  When the cradle cap got behind AJ's ears I washed it with baby shampoo and dried it and put any kind of lotion back there and it cleared up in two days.   (Incase that hasnt happened yet, I freaked out!  I called the doctor and told her that somethign was eating behind AJ's ears and I was scared it would get to his brain haha.  It was like white thick mucus and stunk really really bad.  I would have never associated this with cradle cap.  I hope this saves you some freaking out in the future)

For the cradle cap- I would but Aquaphor by Eucerin on Noah's head and let the skin soften up, then I would gently comb it out.

I used to massage some baby oil on my son's head with one of those soft brushes before I bathed him and it went away in 2 days.  But the zits are usually just a phase:)

Baking powder diluted with water helped a bit with the baby acne but it is just a short phase when your hormones in baby`s body go wild. This and cradle cap goes away on its own. The acne usually after 2 or 3 weeks, the cradle cap sometimes only after a year... I had been advised to use mineral oil on baby`s hair to get rid of the cradle cap. It worked somehwat but that oil irritated my son`s scalp to no end. I just waited it out in the end.
