Trying for a boy or girl

Trying for a boy or girl

I know this is kind of silly and personally I wouldn't care either way and in the end all I want is just to have a healthy baby, but are any of the things true about positions or ideas on trying for a boy or girl?
We have an adorable and sweet little girl and my husband wants a boy, so he said he would do anything just to give it a try.

We tried for a girl,  and got a boy.  ;D  Which is fine.

The theory is,  if you want a boy you do everything possible to help the sperm along.  You time sex perfectly with ovulation,  you eat foods that make your body Ph hospitable to sperm,  and you lay in a position to help the sperm reach your cervix.  With a girl,  you stress the sperm by having sex long before ovulation,  making the Ph inhospitable to sperm,  and whatever else you can do to make those poor spermies stuggle.

Apparently male sperm swim fast but die early.  Female sperm swim slow but live through all kinds of hardship.

According to my OB,  if you're trying for a boy you can tip the odds pretty significantly,  if you're trying for a girl,  not so much.

Good luck with it!

we TTC my 2nd DC and I researched the supposed ways of conceiving one sex to the other. I wanted to give DH a boy. We only did it the day I ovulated, had an orgasm, did it in reverse...laying sideways, and something else I can't remember.

My 1st was a girl, and I'm currently carrying another boy. It might've been just pure luck, but I'd like to believe that my "efforts" helped.

You can research the Shettles Method.  This does not hold true for this baby I'm having, but some people have sworn that it works.

Good luck!

There is no way that you can try to have a certain sex baby - at least that is what I think - Good luck in trying though :-)

i watched a documenary once sayig its about timing of ovulation boy swmmers are faster than girls ! if you get busy 2 days before its more likly to be a girl and boy if you do it on ovulation day however its all a bit clinical ! just have fun doing it anytime as you will be blessed either way . good luck x x

Thank you all for your advice!  Anything is worth a try I guess, but DH said today he wouldn't care either way, just as long as we have another one that is healthy like our first!  I can't wait to start trying, but we agreed to wait a couple more months.  I just wanted to do a little research to see if it was possible to try and conceive what you really want.  If I could I would want to start now, but he wants to wait just a little longer, b/c DD is only 8 months old.
Thanks again!
