Trying to Conceive on #2 on Clomid

Like so many women, my husband and I have been trying to conceive #2 for 2 years.  I had my first child when I was 17.  He was not planned, but is a great joy!  Despite getting pregnant with him very easy, #2 11 years later has proven a great challenge.

My question to all you ladies is this:  I'm 3 days out from my period (I have a period every 26-28 days)and finish my first cycle of clomid 50mg 6/26.  I have been feeling sick to my stomach, having hot flashes like crazy, tired, cranky, and head aches.  (Not to mention my step son keeps hugging me and asking me if i'm okay) Are any of these symptoms similar to anyone else getting pregnant on clomid?

Has anyone's sex drive increased because of the Clomid?

Is anyone else on Clomid that had a regular period, but was not getting pregnant?  If so, did you get pregnant and how long did it take?

You were just looking for me!  I just found out I was pg with my first round of Clomid yesterday and I'm only 12 DPO today.  I too have normal cycles but it just wasn't happening.  So we said what the heck and gave it a try.  I have one previous daughter almost 9yrs old and have had 2 m/c's.  I was sure if I was have side effects of clomid or if I was pg.  Yes, my sex drive went up and I had alot of CM.  I was moody and my boobs were sore since almost ovulation time.  It can happen, I just hope its a good pg this time.

are you 3 days away from your expected period or 3 days after your period? i'm assuming 3 days away and while your symptoms sound like pregnancy they also could be symptoms of period. they're so similiar. you could take an early hpt if you wanted, but i would think it's too early to tell and better off waiting till missed your period. clomid definitely increases your chances for pregnancy (boosts ovulation and possibly even more than one egg ovulates) so hopefully that it worked for you and you get that BFP!! good luck and keep us posted. feel good.

All of your symptoms are side effects of the clomid.  I was on clomid and got preg on my 6th cycle. I too am trying for baby # 2 and will start clomid on my next cycle..   Good luck

Hi Every One,

I hope you can help me on my deppression. I take clomid last June 1-June 5. I ovulate last June 13- June 19 thru ultrasound. My doc told me to wait my period as of this time my period was not come. Last sunday I take pregnancy test and result is positive I went for ultrasound last monday but my doc told me no sac seen on my uterus based on my computation I am on my 5weeks pregnant. Anybody could help me if it happen to anybody. I really depressed. Anybody help me on my deppression. thanks

I was on Clomid for 3 cycles.  I recently got my BFP!!  All of the above symptoms you stated were all things I had BEFORE I even ovulated.  I know it will be different for everyone but this is how it was for me. It can make your cycles a bit longer or shorter depending on the reason you are on Clomid.  I didnt really have any symptoms before I found out I was pregnant (other than a little breast tenderness and ocassional dizzy spell).  I just waited until AF was late and knew after that cause I was on a normal 31 day cycle.  Good luck to you.  If AF is late I would take a test!

They sound more like Clomid side effects rather than pregnancy signs. I hated Clomid cuz of the side effects but it did work for me on the 3rd round at 100mg days 3-7.   Good Luck!!!!

I'm sorry to hear what's going on with you.  How are you feeling?  Do you still feel pregnant?  What has your doctor said?  Could it be possible it was a false positive?  Did they confirm your pregnancy with a blood test?

So did you get your period or not?  All of the side effects make you feel pregnant even when you are not.  Yes, I feel just the way you do minus the heartburn.  

What cycle of clomid are you on? And what mg?  Did you have a regular period?

Those are the EXACT symptoms I had while on Clomid before I ovulated.  The 2nd cycle of Clomid wasn't as bad as my first, so I am wondering if it even helped.

I'm hoping to get my BFP this weekend!!  Wish me luck.

If not, I start my 3rd cycle of Clomid.  This would be #3.  The first two were dang easy!

I think the symptoms seemed to ease up cause you were kinda used to it.  Mine did the same thing.  The 3rd cycle I wondered if I even Oed cause I didnt have the pain that I had the first 2 cycles.  But obviously it did cause I got my BFP!!

Before you went on Clomid did you have a regular cycle?

Have you been getting cravings for sweets?

Has your sex drive increased?

How often are you having sex?  Is it times?

Well now my tiredness went away, but my boobs are still sore.  And my tummy is flat, not bloated and I'm due to start in a couple of days!

What to do think?

Thanks, as of this time I'm still feel pregnant. My doctor not check my blood. She told me she think this was a false positive. She gave me to take duphaston(progesterone). Do you know this medicine?

No, I do not know about that medicine.  I am new to this and this is as far (clomid) as it goes for me and my husband.  I understand the feeling of being pregnant.  I know that I want it so bad I trick myself into believe I am when I'm not.  Please keep me posted.

I take pregnancy test yesterday and it was positive again. i went to my doctor and she told me i am pregnant thru checking o my uterus ( my uterus was two months size). She schedule me again for the ultrasound to check the fetal viability. Please pray for me to see fetus/sac. Hopefully it will be a healthy fetus becuase i really wanted to have a baby.
