Trying to concieve after two healthy children, and an unexpected miscarriage.

by BEXbaby, Apr 24, 2005 12:00AM
I have taken three pregancy tests in my adult life...two were positive, no worries, the third, I thought the same, YEAH! I'M PREGNANT!, I miscarried at five weeks. Shock and horror, followed by intense depression. My husband and I had been trying to concieve for so long, and continued after the miscarriage, but to no avail. I am at my wits end, I have read every book on conception known to man, my periods are normally regular, We are so desperate to concieve.........I need some insight.

How long have you been trying?
Did any results come back from your miscarriage?
You can go on to have a healthy pregnancy after a miscarriage, My first pregnancy in 1992  was a miscarriage at 12 weeks, Since then i have had 3 healthy children.  I would seek medical advice if you have been trying for a while and nothing is happening.

I'm with cinnamon heart. If you have been trying for some time, I would speak to Dr. The one mc, although very sad for you and your family, is probably no indication that there is anything wrong. Miscarriages are more common than we want to believe sometimes.
Particularly with 2 healthy kids, I wouldn't be really worried just yet, but would seek a Dr's opinion if you have been trying for a while.
Best of luck!

I had 3 children and then miscarried twice (last year) at 14 weeks and 10 weeks.  The dr said probably a fluke because I have 3 children already but I did decide to go to a specialist and found out that I have a blood clotting disorder (that was not there with my living children) and need to take blood thinner when we (if) conceive again.  Its sad, but losing a child is not that uncommon (especially in the early weeks) and I'm sure that you will indeed conceive again (maybe have a specialist give you a quick look).  I know that I'm very glad I decided to go that route.
