How can i get my one year old to start eating food? He was eating babyfood at 4 months got very sick and never touched food again. Now he is one and everytime i put mashed potatoes, or peas or greenGreen tea beans or anything in his mouth for a taste he gags and then throws up. I have talked to his dr about this over and over. Does my child need some type of therapy? He won't eat anything but a bottle. Why does he gag when food goes into his mouth? I'm so worried. He weighs 25 pounds and is about 32 inches.
What does he do with more sweet foods, like sweet potatoes or the like? Will he pick up those littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys Gerber fruit puffs and put them in his mouth at all? Or Cheerios?
Do you think its because you are putting the food in his mouth, and he might take it if he could do it himself?
His fav's are yogurt, cottage cheese, sandwiches, eggs, bacon, he actually eats everything we do now, but it took some time. I would approach it with the pedi just to be sure there isn't something more serious going on just to be safeSafe driving for teens Safe sex .
My daughter will not eat either...she's 17 months old. She's VERY thin. We give her pediasure twice a day and feed her what little bit we can. She will eat a few cheerio's and some yogurt here and there. Sometimes we get lucky and she'll eat a little meat. She LOVES milk, though. And luckily, she drinks the pediasure without and problems. She's 32 in and only 20 lbs. I don't have any advice, but just wanted to let you know that you're not alone. Good luck!
my dd is also 18 months...she is 33 inches long and weighs 22lbs. She is a skinny little thing, but we just got back from the doc today and he said he wasn't worried about her lack of interest in food. he said she will develop this over time. she will eat cheerios, crackers, noodles, but will NOT touch anything like meat! and even veggies are hit and miss. i do have better luck feeding her when she is armed with a spoon as well, she actually can feed herself quite well, but, there is LESS mess when I feed her too.

Sometimes it takes time for them to get used to the textures. My youngest didn't like solids at all the first year and took to them very, very slowly after his first birthday. That included spitting out a lot of food. I just kept persisting and he is an eating machine now.
