Trying to have a baby

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for the past year almost but we have had no luck. We are trying to do without the help of doctors but we really dont know what else to do. I was wondering if there was anything else that we could try that no one would think of.

Maybe try the ovulation microscope.  You can buy it at walmart or drugstores and it is about 15.00.  You can use it over and over.  You place you salava on the slide then look at it through the microscope.  If is shows a ferning pattern then you are ovulating.  I had tried for 9 months with no luck then I tried this and found out I was ovulating at a diffrent time than I thought and got pregnant the 2nd month I tried it.  Hope this works for you!

Have you tried charting your bbt? (basal body temperature) My fertility doctor suggested I do this and I got pregnant after the second cycle of charting (also was on Clomid to induce ovulation). You can go to www.fertilityfriend.com to get more information on how to chart. It's really easy to do and can help you pinpoint when you're ovulating. Good luck!

Is Clomid and over the counter drug or would i have to go see a doctor to get a prescription?

It is called a ovulation Microscope.  They have them at drug stores and walmart.  Google ovulation Microscope and it will tell you brands and where to get them.

Believe me we tried everything.  Your very first thing you should do is read "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Weschler (or something like that).  It was the most informative book/information for me.  

1) Take your BBT every morning like PP suggested.  Open an account at fertilityfriend.com
2) Start taking ovulation tests at day 10 - surge at 2 pm NOT FIRST MORNING URINE
3) check the position of your cervix every morning (read about that in the book).  I was sqeamish about that, but it was helpful!
4) After all that and you still aren't pregnant see a specialist.  I also went on clomid and got my BFP on my first round of clomid.  You need a prescription.  Typically clomid is given when you don't ovulate.  I ovulated but my specialist felt my eggs were likely not large enough to become fertilized, and the clomid did the trick.

I have been TTC for over a year now for #1 and hava also not yet gotten pregnant.  I went to a gyn (my doc sent me) and he suggested bbt charting.  So I bought a "Vicks" themometer and started it last month.  I did it the second time this month and am in my last few days of waiting (cd23).  SO I will see if it worked.  This month we bd'd when it seemed like I ovulated last month as well as when my temp was up this month.  We'll see what happens.  Good luck!
