Two lines but..?

My HPTs ordered off of EBAY arrived and I took a test yestereday (9DPO) just for fun to see how it worked. I followed the instructions carefully (although I did not use first morning urine). Within the time limit, I got a very pink faint second line. I looked at it and went "huh?" I did not expect to see anything, but was just testing it out for kicks. I am kind of skeptical that a test would show anything this early and  I wonder if it is an evaporation line? How quickly does an evaporation line appear (the second line showed up within the five minute guideline) and have these internet cheapies been known for false positives?

If it is clearly pink, then I'd say congratulations! If it is questionable/grayish then try again as it IS early and they are notorious for evaporation lines.

Take another one if you are not sure.  I took like 6 each two days apart just to make sure - I know crazy right!!

Well...I don't want to get your hopes up, but I got my bfp after work on December 7th at 9 dpo. Didn't even use FMU. Tested again the next morning and it was still positive. You could be pregnant! I hope congrats are in order (:

i so hope its a true pos!! last cycle before my bfp i ordered some off the net and it was supposed to detect very early 10-15. i got a light line like 9 dpo, but then nothing and af showed. i hope this isnt your case. take another tomarrow and the next day ...... GOOD LUCK!!

I got a very faint line at 9 days, too.  I tested again two days later and it was a bit darker.  I waited a week and took another one and was a dark line.  I always believe a line is a line, so Congratulations!!

mine were internet cheapies and they tested positive when the expensive store brands were not. usually a colored line is not evaporation. especially in the window before the timeline they suggest.

i'd say congratulations maybe?!

I'd say a congrats is in order!  I used Early Response 10 dpo and got a faint positive, the next day I did again too.  I went to the doctor that day as well and I found out 2 days later (still several days before AF was due) that I was indeed pg - HCG was 34!  I am not almost 13 weeks!  Good luck to you and keep us posted!!!  Baby dust!

Yes, it could be just the fact it is an internet cheapie. Which, of course, would make the fact I paid 10 bucks for 50 of them a waste of ten bucks! :)

I personally like the digital tests.  all my other testing I used the ones with the lines.  This pregnancy there was no mistaken when it flashed pregnant at me.  Although I did take 7 more tests after that cause I couldn't believe it.   congrats!

I got my first BFP at 9DPO (at night, so not FMU) and it was VERY faint as well. I didn't believe it was real, so I tested the next morning to verify (three times!). I continued to get BFP (although very faint) and scheduled an appointment with my dr to verify after six hpt all showed BFP. I would say congratulations are likely in order. Be sure to test with more than one brand or with the same brand several times to rule out the likelihood of false positive (I tested six times with four brands because I received a false positive on three sticks from a certain brand a digital test the month before my true BFP ... it wasn't a chem pg because the blood test even showed negative ... 3 of 5 tests from this brand - Confirm Clearly - showed false BFP). I guess only time will tell...I have had "faint" positives before (around the time AF was due those times) and then went onto m/c a few weeks later.
I don't want to get my hopes up yet. I don't know if this test was just faulty or what. I have never used these cheapie ones before...There is still a faint colored line there (after a day) so..? But, I have heard that evaporation lines sometimes can be faint too. I guess since I bought 50 of these tests, I can go test happy over the next few days. And..if AF shows up next week, then..it was probably a faulty test or evap line.

pertykitty, what type of test was it that you had off the net? Apparently the ones I have are supposed to be super sensitive....they are just pregnancy test strips...Is that what you had that you tested pos and then went onto getting AF?

I really hope this is it. But..I keep thinking that! It was neat to see a second line...even if it doesn't turn out to be anything, at least I saw a line. That was nice :) I hope you get your BFP too :)

Some internet cheapies are known for evaps. I used some last cycle and got a definite second line within a few minutes, but all the other pregnancy tests were showing BFN (which was the correct result) I took another internet cheapie the next day and it was stark white. No line or anything. So it just depends on the test. I personally will not believe a positive result on those IC's until i can confirm with a name brand....just my personal experience....But i sure hope this is your BFP!!

Oh my gosh!  I read your post and it gave me goosebumps!  Could it be??  A BFP??!!!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.  I am TWW still and scared to test.  I should see AF sometime around Sunday.  I think I'll end up breaking down and testing before then just to see....what a waste of $$ but I can't help it.  Keep testing and let us know what the next test says!!!  Here's a pre-congrats just in case! :)

i bought them from webwomb. it was like 5 for $17 or 18. it was the only one so maybe it was an evap that showed up early. with this pg i didnt get my bfp until i was 13 dpo!
