Hello everyone. I posted last week about my Dr. appt. My Dr. had put me on bedrest because my blood pressurePressure ulcer was so high. Well, i went back yesterday and my blood pressurePressure ulcer got worse. And that was with doing absolutely nothing but lay around all week. And on top of that i gained over 7 lbs in less than 7 days. And i've been having problems with sudden rapidRapid shallow breathing heart beat and trouble breathing...almost like an anxiety attack...3-4 times a day. Dr. says he thinks that the baby is compressing blood flow to my heart and its racing to keep up with itself. Crazy right. But he decided that he doesn't want me to be pregnant anymore and had scheduled to induce me on the firstFirst progesterone mc10 First progesterone mc5 First-progesterone vgs 100 First-progesterone vgs 200 First-progesterone vgs 25 First-progesterone vgs 400 First-progesterone vgs 50 First-testosterone First-testosterone mc available slot Monday morning. Meanwhile....at least i've progressed some. At 36 wks, i was not dilatedDilated cardiomyopathy at all...and now, at 38 wks, i'm dilatedDilated cardiomyopathy 2cm and since my internal yesterday, i've lost my mucus plug and have been cramping. So i think there is some progress there. Maybe i'll go naturally and won't need to be induced. I've heard that it is more painful and intense when you are induced and it scares me. Has anyone else been induced? Is it as bad as they say? Does it take longer? There are so many questions..i'm so nervous!
Anyway, i think i just needed to get those fears out there. I hope you'll use this as an open forum as well. Hope everyone is well!!! waiting for more updates!
With my daughter i was 2w over due I was scheduled to be induced, but the night befor she decided to come on her own. I stayed at home as long as I could when I went to the hospital I was 8 cm dilated. An hour and a half later it was over no epidural or pain meds it was great. With my son they wanted to induce me for really no good reason other than he would be big if he stayed in. They gave me petocin at 7:30 it took all day I asked for an epidural b/c i was worn out and they had to use a suction type thing to get him out. The epidural only worked on my left side. I'm hoping this one comes on his/her own. There was a huge difference between the two experiences. Good Luck.
My sister was induced with her first child due to toxemia.
Everything went smoothly for her as well. At least with being induced, you KNOW everything is going to happen soon, whereas natural, it's a big waiting game. Pitocin just gets the ball rolling quicker...either way, labor is labor from what I've heard. My sister had her second one with no inducement...and everything happened so fast, they barely had time to give her an epidural...she had already been through "the worst of it" by the time they did it, and she was ready to push immediately.
I was induced, the doc first put a cervidil stip in the night before, didn't do a thing but to start labor he broke my water, I started contracting right away but after 3 hours it wasn't enough so I got some pitocin drip.
Your symptoms sounds like labor is getting close so maybe your doc will just have to break your water and you'll be good to go.
Maybe you can do a lot of extra walking this week end (and sex) and maybe you'll go on your own.
Good luck
I'm new to the forum, but thought I would reply to this thread. I think when the baby is ready the baby is ready. Whether or not you are induced. With my first one the baby looked big so after 1 week of being late they induced me using the gel, and had to do that 2 more times. They them stripped the membrane and when that didn't work they put me on oxitocin for 10 hours. Even when they induce you, you will have the option of the epidural but don't do it too soon! I didn't have the baby until 3 days after my first gel, granted my baby was 10lbs 10oz and did not want to come out on her own. After talking to aother moms the pain seems to be the same all around. Good luck to you!
I was induced with my first a day after my due date. I had the gelling and they stripped my membranes twice before hand. As far as beind induce, everything went pretty smooth. They started pitocin around 7:30a, broke my water around 9:30a, started the epidural around 1-1:30p and I had my son at 8:18 that night. I have heard horrow stories both ways, so I guess it will all depend on your body and the baby.
Did the DR. strip your membranes at your last apt? I know this helped me two of my pregnancy to start labor, this way they don't actually have to induce you with drugs. Maybey you could go in yet today and have the procedure done?? Good luck!!
Thanks everyone...I'm hoping for the best and trying not to stress. But it's so much easier said than done. Fingers crossed. I'll let everyone know when my little girl gets here!
Just wanted to wish you good luck! I know it's nerve wracking knowing that you are walking in there to have them put you into labor, but you'll be fine. I was induced with my son and will probably be induced with this one a little early due to his size (my first was over 10 lbs. and this one is measuring bigger than the first at this point). Just think, won't be long now, but be patient, could take a few days, or only a few hours. Congrats and good luck!

Best of luck! I'm sure you'll do fine!
