Ugh...teething...Tylenol question

by Me2mommy2b, Nov 18, 2007 10:15PM
DD's been miserable these past few weeks.  I've been giving her Tylenol once a day when the teething gets really bad.  I really hate giving meds and I try to do it as less as possible since she's already on Prevacid.  Poor girl..I was brushing her teeth today and noticed that all 4 canines are coming in at the same time.  No wonder she's been so cranky lately.  How much Tylenol is ok to give?

How old is your DD?  I gave my DD tylenol and hated having to give it to her every day too.  I started using Hyland's Teething Tablets and those seemed to do wonders with her.  I had used the Hyland's Colic Tablets and those helped, so when I saw they had the teething ones, I thought what the heck.  My DD is 16 months and has 16 teeth now.  Just recently having 4 come in at the same time and I gave her the tablets again and they worked.  That way I didn't have to give her Tylenol so much. I also used orajel.  I always have heard that Motrin is better for pain.  So you could always alternate between the two. HTH!

my daughter's pediatrician calculated her tylenol dose based on her weight at her last appointment. it was for the pain from shots. he said it was perfectly safe to give it every 4-6 hours. call your ped and ask what dose your dd should get.

Howdy, isn't it a mess??? Lily has all 4 molars in. She looks like a mess because she is still missing one front tooth. She looks like a pumpkin, ha ha. She had been waking up 2-3x crying a night and I suspected the teeth. I give her .08 or .08+.04 before she goes to bed and that keeps her soothed all night. I hope she feels better soon.
