Uh oh - with prenatals

Uh oh - with prenatals

I always keep my prenatals with me in my handbag and needed to get more out of the main box they come in to refill the supply in my purse. Well... I was reaching in the box to pull several out and noticed on the side it says... Take medication on an empty stomach 1hr before or 2-3 hours after a meal. I always assumed that they be taken with food. For 9wks 4 days I have been taking with full meals. Im nervous now my food absorbed all the nutrients and the baby didnt get what he/she needs. Whats your opinions? Help!

I take mine in the morning before work and then I eat breakfast.  Some people HAVE TO take them with food or they get sick to the stomach, so I would say you are probably ok.

I take mine right before I go to bed or with my evening snack. I agree with Stephd I dont think you have anything to worry about

It still has to be better then not taking them at all...you still have alot of time to start taking them like is says.
I take mine at night before bed....otherwise I forget! Not sure if thats when they tell me too but I figure its better then nothing.

my prenatal says 'take with a meal". I think its better to take them with food, as the vitamins would be absorbed better.

There's no possible way I can take my prenatals on an empty stomach, in fact, I can't even take them in the morning on a full stomach.  Through trial and error I've finally discovered that if I take half of one after lunch and the other half after dinner, I'm okay.  That's the only way it works for me, otherwise I feel nauseous all day.

Like the other gals said, I don't think you have anything to be worried about. :)

I take mine at bedtime whether I've just eaten or not. If I go right to sleep afterward, then I don't feel sick from them.
