Update-Miscarriage

by Lilyb, Dec 06, 2007 03:18PM
I went for my appointment today. The doctor said since after 4 weeks I am only spotting she will check my HCG and if they come back anything but zero she will prescribe me with Cytotec. I really want to miscarry naturally. It is strange but now I am praying for more bleeding!
She also want me to have HSG(injecting dye into my uterus to see if there is anything wrong). has any of you had this procedure? how is it?
Thanks

I had an HSG done.  I won't lie - it is painful.  They inject the dye and watch to make sure that your tubes are clear.  You will experience cramping (the painful part) during the test and afterwards.  I took some pain medication an hour before the test to help with the pain.

I hope all goes well and that they find nothing wrong :)

my hsg was like a pap, not painful but not something you want to do every day.  i felt a lot of pressure.  they will have you take ibuprofen beforehand and definitely do this as it will minimize pain from cramping.  if you have a blockage the hsg can be more painful.

Do you know if after HSG we should wait before we try again? I mean because of the injected dye, or can we ttc right after?

thanks again

No need to wait...but you can always ask your doctor to make sure.
